Hall, Nico, Palmieri and Coleman. That's it. That's all who should be absolutely safe from being traded. Everyone else is fair game.

Honestly, maybe it's time to start taking the temperature on Hall. Is he going to resign realistically? Are we going to be ready by the time he's out of his prime (not as far away as we may think)? It may be time to actually consider a trade because his value will never be higher. We would get a boatload from some team on the cusp.

Maybe that's blasphemous. Idk

Depends on the return. On a team this bad no one is 100 percent untouchable realistically.

You worry about players that are good enough to keep a bad team mediocre. Not good for either party.

Stopped caring after the 1st. They looked asleep and like they didn't want to be there. Must be nice to go home with your million dollars to skate around on the ice for 20 minutes.
And now I'm doing paperwork and just realized the game is still going on. That shows what this team has done to me. My brain went to paperwork instead of back to the game. Forgot all about the game. sucks to suck.

Trust me from experience. Offer the guy some big dough. If he doesn’t sign. Get as much as you can for him. Nothing is worse than watching your star player go run off and get nothing in return for him.

Exactly. We have the cap space. Offer him the money before the trade deadline and see what happens. We can get a very nice return for him in a trade, even as a UFA.

OK, can we all agree now that the playoffs are out of the question and this team now has 2 goals? First do your best to showcase tradeable assets. Secondly, do nothing to hurt your draft prospects, you recent play has shown you are capable of a top 5 pick, do not blow that.

He can’t sign an extension with us until the summer, he is signed through the end of next season. I wouldn’t worry about trading Hall until the start of next season. If we haven’t made any moves to improve and we still suck and he doesn’t seem inclined to sign an extension, then you start thinking about trading him.

I have a feeling it’s going to come down to Detroit, Ottawa and us for worst in the league by seasons end.

At some point Chicago is probably going to stop starting Ward, LA isn’t nearly as bad as their record indicates and I think the Flyers pass us.

Yeah, that’s problematic, but we are really, really bad. Imagine if we trade Mojo, Boyle and Kinkaid and call up Cormier to back up Blackwood. That might be the equalizer.

Honestly we should keep Butch, MackBlack, and Ty Smith also. Otherwise, I totally agree.

Looking at capgeek and seeing our inactive cap hurts right now with Hall and Corey out.

Actually, that might be a blessing. If we continue our losing ways and other teams near us get those points...granted its a double edged sword.

Right now they are the second lowest scoring team at 5v5 in the league, I just can't see that continuing with the roster they have. Plus I really don't want them to get Hughes or Kakko.

Doomed.

They do have some of the worst coaching in the league though.

Yeah Ty Smith I agree with but I meant more on the current roster. Butcher I know is only having a sophomore slump but something tells me he may end up just being a decent pp specialist. He can't defend much of anything in front of the net right now. But we'll see.
