Howard looked Smith like on that Gio goal. Thats the problem with all the backup talk.We need BSD to carry the freight on a long run. Smith will get another 10 games, why spend assets for 10 games that could do the same thing as what Smith does.
I think every team is praying their #1 goalie doesnt go down.

Agree. Having a productive 3rd line takes pressure off the top 2 line, it also keeps Ryan on the 4th which is a good thing. They've definitely looked better the last few games they've played together.
Also agree on the backup situation. Smith hasn't looked horrible his last few starts. Keep the assets. Don't think it's fair to write off Gillies after only 12 NHL games, if we're taking that philosophy then Ritich wouldn't have had another chance this year.
