Accident or not. That’s a brutal whack

Figured he'd get at least a game. Two games seems fair, would have preferred three. Players are responsible for their sticks.

Johansen's saving grace was that Scheifele wasn't hurt. It could have been 5-10.

I'm impressed with any suspension at all honestly.
Nashville gets away with pretty much anything especially at home so good on the NHL.

...As a result, Ryan Kesler will also miss games as he continues to reside in Johansen's head.

those 4 goals and 6 points in 44 games are definitely what Johansen is worried about.

He should have gotten 3 games. The most disturbing thing is that the ref only gave him a 2 min penalty.

Looked to me like he turned to be staring right at him as he swung the axe over his head, yikes. Can't see how that could be construed as accidental.

CBus absolutely robbed them blind. A Norris level D man for at best, a 3rd line center and douche to boot. Should’ve got more for being the coward he is.

on what planet is a 60-70pt center (on pace for about 70 this year) an "at best, 3rd line center".....he'd be the best forward on your team

Yeah maybe in the movie version ... not so much in real life.

so who on your team is better? Johanson would be the leading scorer in Anaheim by a mile, he's 10pts clear of your top scorer. i guess that means your team is full of, at best, 4th liners?

He got 2 games for doing essentially the same thing Gudas got 10 games for doing (to Perrault) last season. I get it, Gudas had priors but that's a pretty big discrepancy.

OMG

Why is he not suspended the whole season!?

Look at the slomo, the anger in his face right before he cuts away and the sly look to see if ref saw. After Sheif was hounding him, he said, (frank) the puck, turned around and axed him. I cant believe the NHL.

There is no way that was an accident.

Listen to the commentary by the bonehead homer Preds broadcasters.
Could be comical if it wasn't so serious.

Can anyone perform a tomahawk by accident unintentionally?

Wasn't exactly the same. Perrault was down and Gudas gave him a full guillotine swing.

Not saying give this a pass, but Gudas' was worse, and should have been 25 games minimum.

In no way, shape, or form on any planet in the universe is that accidental. If the Jets player lays there putting on a show and is out for the rest of that game
and the next game that's 10 games minimum. Good on the Jets player for having integrity, but that Pred needs an ass kicking.

Should have been 3, based on the Bryon suspension. If an accidental headshot check with no priors gets 3, then a vicious slash to the head/neck should warrant at least the same. Just for the sake of consistency.
