He was already a quality scorer with a far higher ceiling, so yes. This is a trade you will regret. Not as bad as the Burns trade, but still bad.

K, He's been terrible since the beginning of last season. so how long does one wait on a player that was drafted high in the first and that has shown signs of greatness but has completely sucked for the last 2 seasons?
He was given every opportunity to snap out of whatever funk he's been in and he just never did anything to show that he was on his way back.
Secondly, Nino will NEVER be even in the same universe as being comparable to Brent Burns. Apples/Oranges.
Fenton needed to start turning over a roster of supposed "quality scorers" that just hasn't been able to do anything beyond the first round of the playoffs.
Any Wild fan will tell you that Nino is one that had to go. Did they get back an equal player? Probably not, but clearing cap space and ridding the roster of a player that has promise but was not living up to that promise is a simple start to the betterment of said roster.
I honestly hope he turns his career around in another market, but he clearly was never going to do it here and that is why the Wild will never regret moving him.
