Now I can see your point that he has never accomplished this prior in his career, but most value him based on potential. I personally look at the consistency of a player and how often they accomplish it before giving them the tag. Many players have scored X amount of goals in their career to never accomplish it again, does that make them an X goal scorer for doing it once?

Defensively he is one of the best in the league, just because you don't hear him associated with the Selke award is your fault because last I checked there is more than 3 good defensive forwards in the league. He has been a league leader in takeaways for years now and is extremely defensively responsible even on bad teams.
