If you could only choose between Hitch and Eakins for next season, who would it be?

For as much as I hated him as our coach Eakins does have success as a coach in the minors....he just wasn’t ready to coach the Oilers

He had some pretty awful rosters in his years here and I wouldn't doubt he has coaching talents. I might choose him over Hitch, honestly.

He's got a pretty damn strong team, but he definitely appears to be getting the best out of them. Even if I think a good deal of this has been the natural development of guys like Russell, Jones and Gambo, he's dealt with underwhelming goaltending until Starrett's recent run and has consistently found spots for developing our prospects. A fine example of how much good line consistency can do for players.

Starrett is a guy that I hope can keep up how good play because I have a feeling he will be backing up Koskenin next year.....might even be this year if Talbot does get traded unless we get a back up in return for any deal we make

I just know I don't like what I see from McDavid's numbers under Hitch and I know from his history that Hitch has a shelf-life that typically shortens during unsuccessful seasons. Ideally I want an actual new-age coach that's chosen by the best GM candidate available, but Eakins is closer to that than Hitch is. Won't matter until the roster is fixed, though.

This is one of the scheduled losses. Makes it a lot less painful to watch knowing there was never a chance we'd win unlike the many games against other bubble teams and below where we blow 3rd period leads.

I wouldn't go with Eakins either, but the choice is Eakins or Hitch so I have to pick what I think will be the closest thing to my criteria.
