It's more the team around them... everyone is entitled to have a bad game once in a while. Drai, RNH and McD shouldn't have to drag the entire team every single night.
- Reveen.

They shouldn’t but that’s what a lot of this fanbase demands....if they want to get mad then at least get mad at the right people instead of going on these stupid witch hunts

Hence why I don't view bringing him back as an option under any circumstance. No more old school veteran coaches; now that we've seen what "hockey people" consider two of the better coaches of the modern era can do, it's time to try a different approach.

I have been saying the same thing with the GM search and who our next coach will be....Hitch already sounds defeated to me.....until the roster gets ripped apart it might not even matter who the coach is

Organizational degradation in real-time (as per Woodguy on Lowetide):

"I think the trend in these results over the last 3 years speaks well to the degradation of talent in the org.

McDavid and Draisaitl together:
Season CF%
16/17 53.9
17/18 54.4
18/19 50.2

Season GF%
16/17 59.4
17/18 57.4
18/19 59.3

So far so good. The two best players are great together. CF% is meh, but they outscore their CF% routinely like other high end pairs

McDavid without Draisaitl
Season CF%
16/17 52.2
17/18 51.3
18/19 49.9

Season GF%
16/17 65.5
17/18 56.8
18/19 42.1

Slow and slight decline in CF% and the GF% is a travesty.

Draisaitl without McDavid
Season CF%
16/17 47.7
17/18 50.4
18/19 44.3

Season GF%
16/17 44.2
17/18 42.4
18/19 43.3

That’s just sad. Can’t lay it all at Leon’s feet either. No help.

Neither McDavid or Draisaitl on the ice
Season CF%
16/17 48.5
17/18 49.3
18/19 47.7

Season GF%
16/17 50.4
17/18 41.2
18/19 37.9"

Galling indictment of EVERYONE involved in running this team.

Given the minutes they're playing, I don't blame them for being tired.

The quality of Leon’s wingers when he isn’t with McDavid are bad.....Drai isn’t McDavid and not many are....he simply cannot drag bad players to success.....look at any successful team and I don’t think you are going to find anyone in that situation....good players get to play with good players....unless you are the Oilers because after the top 3 it falls off hard

They do....you can see it’s a divided locker room....they certainly are not playing for one another as the phrase goes and not everyone has bought into the system

As much as Chiarelli bungled the Eberle and to a lesser extent Hall trades. I do believe that after years of the BS you lose those players in the dressing room permanently.

Which is why I’m really amazed with Nuge....all he has known is this crap but he is having his best season to date....he is our best two way player and it seems like all this stuff just bounces off of him even tho I’m sure it doesn’t...you don’t really see it much in him

He’s been a consummate professional as an Oiler, yet it wouldn’t (and shouldn’t) surprise me if he wants to test the UFA market when his time comes.

Realistically next season could be his last one as an Oiler.....hard to say what he wants to do.....I wouldn’t be shocked if he wanted to go somewhere new and win some games but he might be the type of guy who wants to see it through in Edmonton

It’s 3 with the possibility of 5....if the Oilers feel like he needs more time after 3 then they can ask the league to extend it

Okay that makes sense, I just kept reading 5 games in articles. Then 3 games. Easiest way to solve confusion is ask a question. I just hope he comes back and is a positive contributor to the team. Not a defensive Lucic. A 5.5 millions dollar player essentialy being the 7th d. we dont need 2 albatross contracts. With the oilers at the nhl level. out side of Mcdavid, Drai, Nugey, Pool Party, Klefbom, Larsson, and nurse. Move the rest .

Anyone worth picking in that spot? I haven't paid attention to the coming draft at all.
