I'm convinced Markstom does a line of coke before every meeting with the Flames. He's the only guy on the 'Nuks that shows up to play.

That bye week was a curse. Killer instinct seems to have disappeared with the layoff. Boys need to take a hard look at themselves right now.

Yeah no kidding. A lot of overreaction in this thread to a loss in a game where the goalie stole it. If the Flames play like they did last night for the rest of the year they are going to win the vast majority of their games. Markstrom stole the game. It happens to everyone.

to replace Smith...Rittich has the best road numbers in the NHL and hasn't lost a regulation game at home this year.

He let in a bad goal, happens to everyone...enjoy 9th place Canucks fans

He’s let in a bad goal or two kind of a lot.

His sv% when he gets 3+ days of rest is .923%

his sv% on 1 day of rest(aka playoff schedule) is .902%

Sounds like a great backup/tandem goalie, but not a legit starter

If Calgary's going to make a big move at the TDL, shopping for a goalie is a must IMO. Love what Rittich has done this year but he needs some help. Who's out there ? Howard ? Is Bobrovsky available ? Who else is out there that could improve things ?

Bob is 100% a no. The cost would be ridic and he sucks in the playoffs. Maybe Howard.

Yeah bobs going to cost a fortune. Howard’s numbers are solid this year. I’d be willing to give him a shot for the right price.

I think any goaltending changes will be made in the off season. Rittich & Smith got us to 1st in the West. Load up at the TDL if we can.

Doing nothing and giving the boys a vote of confidence might not be the worst thing either (if it ain't broke don't fix it )

No way is Bob on the table. Way too expensive. Howard would be a pretty solid option that shouldn't be too pricey, though. I'd be fine with him. Kinkaid might be a solid option too.

And his record? I'll tell you

20-4-5

That's right in 29 Games he has lost FOUR games that would have been losses in the playoffs

7-3-3 on one day's rest allowing 3 goals per game which is OK I guess

The Flames shouldn't be trading for a goalie unless they could get like a Lundqvist. The Flames goaltending has been fine this year. They still have the second-best goal differential by a healthy margin. They're not bringing Howard in unless Rittich completely collapses, and they don't want to give the starting job back to Smith. Howard isn't going to a team where he'll be a backup.

Interesting stat, thanks for that. I am not saying Rittich is of this ilk, but remember how Carey Price's career started? Wasn't he pushed aside from Halak at one point? It's not all roses and sunshine becoming a starter in this league. Rittich is doing just fine.

Man so tough to tell how a goalie will do in the playoffs.

The only goalie I would go hard after is Holtby. Guy is a stud in the playoffs.
