Did a bit of research today on FA's for potential offseason moves just for fun, had some time to kill.

I suspect there will be a need for 3 - 4 signings at various levels of play
Obviously, I am NOT suggesting Sabres go after all of those below, rather my top FA targets based on position of need. Some interesting RFA targets, would love to see them go for 1 of the lower level players who are up and coming...like DeAngelo could be a terrific add
Furthermore, these are predicated on
- pushing Sam down to 2RW to distribute scoring to that line
- dumping Sheary as a 2LW, they simply need more there, if they can't dump him, 3LW or 4LW it is for his last year
- moving Girgenson

1RW
▪Mark Stone
2C
▪Kevin Hayes, UFA
▪William Karlsson, RFA
2LW
▪Ryan Dzingle, UFA
3LW
▪Alex Iafello, RFA
1st Pairing RHD
▪Jacob Troba, RFA
3rd Pairing RHD (if Bogo is moved)
▪Anthony DeAngelo, RFA

- IonSabres

I’m pretty sure tpa will want to move out salary to sign Brayden Point but I wonder if a trade could be made there. He would be my prime target if it’s attainable.

Let me know if any particular names jump out to you.

There are quite a few. Depends if you are swinging for the fences or playing it safe really imo.

How long did it take Chevyldayoff to build the Jets into a great team?

6 years?

Give Botts a (frank)ing chance. Jesus, the (frank)ing meltdowns I see on this site are ridiculous, along w the knee-jerk reactions. They lose today? They're terrible! Eff this team! Eff this city! Eff the owners! Eff the fans!

They win next game. Everything is OK.

I think some on here need meds.

Housley? Not sold on him and wouldn't bat an eyelash if he was canned after the season, but if he isn't, oh well. Give the GM who's been on the job a season and a half a chance to do his job. Perhaps he hired the wrong guy. Mistakes happen.

Shouldn’t fans be patient with Housley as well? He’s never been a head coach before.

Maybe? That's why I said, if he isn't fired, oh well.

I wouldn't object to an experienced head coach, but this team isn't close to a finished product, either, so is the coach to blame? He does make some goofy decisions, I'll agree w anyone who says that, but there are about 15 other teams in the league below us that have coaches making goofy decisions.

Imo, they are where I thought they'd be, sniffing around 9th place.

it never going to happen not this year nor any years that follow..... Look at the islanders lost their best player they are making the playoffs, The Canadians we all made fun of this this past off season, they probably make it too... why? Because they actually have NHL coaching, unlike our Pee Wee coach.

They also have goalies that are playing very well. Price's SV% might not be amazing, but his 2.55 GAA is elite.

When the GM does something good he get credit, (Skinner) when he doesn't he deserves criticism. (handling of the players during the year, handling of Mitts, Handling of ROR trade and replacement (totally (frank)ed this up). mistakes happen with this team non stop, personally its time for mistakes to stop. no more free rides.

It's a product of the times. Everything is instant gratification. Hardly anyone thinks more than 10 minutes into the future anymore.

Can some of that can be because they have coaches that teach a system to players that can actually implement that? instead of the same mistakes we see day after day year after year here???? Can you blame the players, some but if they don't play the system he's teaching make a change. sit them.

Why does price have a GAA that is so good but the save % isn't, because they limit what the other team does. They have that much of a better defense than us? they were the worse team in the NHL prior to the season starting.

Im not trying to change you mind, you're never going to change mine, our coach is the worst one in the NHL, hands down bar none.

They need a 2nd line center, yes.

Berglund was supposed to take pressure off of Mitts in that regard. Not Botterill's fault that he ran back to Sweden.

O'Reilly needed to go. No one won this trade until we see how TT and that 1st rounder pan out. Your assessment that he "totally (frank)ed this up" are very premature.

Is Botts perfect? No. But no GM is. But if we're to believe what Homie said the other day about their off-season goals, then Botts knows what this team lacks, and those are the same things we all see, too. Allow the man to build it right.

Strome would have been the perfect buy low candidate, especially with how he has produced in Chicago since the trade, with another goal and 2 assists today.

Housley won't be fired. Fans need to come to terms with that. They're on pace for 15+ improvement.

I don't love Housley but the team has improved

I was wrong, Price's SV% is actually more highly ranked than his GAA.
