i don't think they're overachieving. i think there's just so much junk in the middle-20 of NHL teams and Montreal is just a few wins ahead of the curve. they had no one at the All-Star game, no one is putting up silly numbers or no one player is carrying them based on unsustainable numbers. they're just a solid team. would lose a series to the Leafs, no question, but i don't think overachievers.

Call it what you want, they have a great goalie that can steal a few games and a great coach. I thought from day one they would be fighing for a wild card spot and I still think so. Hate Gallagher gets away with running the goalie 4-5 times a game (wish he was on the Leafs) Talent up front is middle of the road. Their goal differential of only 10 indicates they are overachieving - credit to the coach, who despite being an ugly (frank) is a great coach.
