I was right earlier. You don't know Richard about hockey. - GreatGigInTheSky

Never!
I say what I mean to say. Except when I'm wasted and (frank) up my words. |

Cant win them all. 56 shots and you just sort of have to tip your hat and move on. |

i Kept saying that the Leafs would not miss JVR and they don't.
They won't miss Gardiner either. - Aetherial

I would agree, but since you said it, I hope Gardiner re-signs for 8 years.

I make my decisions on whether I would hate to see the Leafs play against that certain player for fear of getting burned by them. JVR and Gards are not those guys. |

Frustrating.....time to regroup and take out the Avs. Leafs need to get another defenceman, if they want to get out of the first round. Gardiner must be moved. Two options to do this:
A trade for another defenceman. Something like Gardiner to Winnipeg for Jacob Trouba. Both are UFA's after this season. Leafs need a right handed shot and Winnipeg a left handed shot. Trouba plays behind Dustin Byfuglien and Tyler Myers on the right side. Gardiner's contract demands are similar to Trouba's. Even if it's for a rental for both sides.
Trade Gardiner for a first round pick in either 2019 or 2020. If the Leafs can find a partner that's trying to get into the playoffs and lottery protects the pick, then put their 2020' first round pick into play for another defenceman. See Carolina or Anaheim.
Leafs need that right handed top 4 defender to play with Rielly. Mussin can slot in on the second pairing on the left side. Discuss? |

Let's start with three of (arguably) the greatest defensive pairings of all time certainly all three pairs would make any top ten pairings of all time, lots of championships here.
Chris Pronger (LHD) with Scott Neidermayer (LHD)
Bobby Orr (LHD) with Dallas Smith (LHD)
Larry Robinson (LHD) Guy Lapointe(LHD) and for good measure
Serge Savard (LHD) Jacques Laperriere (LHD)
(frank) off with the RHD fabricated requirement (DISCUSS)

Right? What we need are guys that can play the right side - if they happen to be right handed, then great. If not (like Rielly) then that's okay too. |
