Karine Hains: This Week in Habs Nation After the never ending all star break, the Habs were meant to have 3 easy games against struggling teams before playing against 4 of the league's best teams and many thought they wouldn't be able to compete with them...How wrong they were.

good afternoon boys and girls!

question of the day, will CAR, BUF or PHI catch up with the Habs?
or is this playoffs spot pretty much locked in?

Barring a major habs collapse or one of those teams winning every remaining game, there s np way that happens.

major collaps?!? Habs loses 3, CAR wins 3, and they're all tied up.
it's a lot closer than you may think.

It depends on a lot of other things too... Carolina wins 3 and they may take over 3rd spot in the Metro, or even 2nd... what's Pittsburgh, Boston,Columbus, Washington and even Long Island doing over those 3 games? In the end, they'll be 4 teams fighting for 2 wiild card spots!

If they win 50% of their games (or more) they will more than likely make it.... I would still prefer a top 5 pick.

they still have their California trip, where historically they never win,
and they finish the season againts CLB, WPG, TB, WASH, and TOR.

It's the winning percentage that counts not how many wins in a row
