Carol Schram: Markstrom spectacular, Pettersson has shootout winner for Canucks vs Flames The Vancouver Canucks stayed in the Western Conference playoff hunt thanks to brilliant games by Jacob Markstrom and Elias Pettersson in their 4-3 shootout win over the Calgary Flames.

MacEwen's style may be a bit too violent for some the way he plays.

Good luck Zack

Glad to hear Flames have shoot out woes also with all their high power offence.

Carol do you think the Canucks will make the playoffs? We are closing in on 60 games and I thought no way but now am beginning to wonder? Goaltending makes a huge difference and Marky has put on his Superman undies.

I still can't bring myself to think they'll make it.
hats off to the team for their play thus far, but I don't think they can sustain it with the injuries...sadly, more will come i suspect.

I'm still on the fence. Hard not to be optimistic about their chances after a tremendous effort last night—and once they get through next week, their schedule is pretty favourable, with lots of home games.

But St. Louis just beat Nashville to move two points up again—and has games in hand. Chicago's feelin' it and coming hard.

I think they're the two biggest challengers. Vancouver might need Minnesota to fall out in order to have a shot. They did lose Mikko Koivu for the season earlier this week...

Goldy, Granlund banished to the bench with the MacEwen call up?

Really excited about the MacEwen call up.... hope greener gets him into atleast one game , he has certainly earned a look. Wouldn't be surprised if this is JB getting a feel for his NHL readiness heading into the trade deadline. Could be the deciding factor on wether or not he's willing to move on offers for established forwards like Sutter or Jake?

I must have watched a different game last night than the Canucks fans did!
Aside from 10 minutes in the first period that was the most 1 sided game of the season and had no business going to overtime,
Canucks will end up in the stink hole and draft a 3-5 year project 15th overall.

No point in calling him up if he doesn't play. Does Green risk playing him during a playoff push?

They call guys up often and leave them in the press box. I'm just hoping this isn't the case this time around.

From Jeff Paterson:

"while I do expect MacEwen to play on this call up, #Canucks Green would not commit to it. Says he wants to see him, but when asked if ZM will play, Green did not say Yes. Had high praise for him and his growth at AHL level"

Thanks Carol.

Ruby was right thinking the call up would be today after they played last night.

Team played well last night, not sure who comes out of the line up to let him in.

We played well enough to win every game on the 4 game in 6 trip and won 1 and played like crap last night and won, the way it goes.

Well we did play well enough to beat you 3 of 4 times this year .

That's all that matters in the end right . Third year in a row we win the series
