Brutal non-goal at that point in the game. Makes you wonder about the point of replays if a goal like that can be negated.

Raffl was going hard on him but doesn't make that stick swing any less disgusting. Raffl got lucky it didn't do any serious damage. Thank god he wears a visor.

Raffl was trying to get geno to retaliate to draw a penalty, he literally punched him in the back of the head before geno lost his mind, you mess with the bull you get the horns. Doesn’t excuse what geno did and I’d hope the league would give him 3-10 but we all know they seem to not factor in intent in these situations.

While what you say here is correct, the issue goes deeper. With the protective gear these players wear there is now little respect for each other. It used to be if you did what Raffl did Malkin would turn around and ask him to fight. Now it's a stick swing to the head.

I know we like to talk about how things are so much worse now but I don’t buy this lack of respect that’s new, same as it ever was same as it ever was

Unfortunately the league will go light on him as they will say he is not a repeat offender. The only reason he is not a repeat offender is that they use this excuse every time, so he has little number of games being suspended. Of course, if he played for a couple different teams, then the suspension would be much more severe. I hope I am mistaken and the league addresses this fairly, but I am not holding my breathe.

At least we know it’s over. We are sellers now and we can get on with deadline and improving this team for next year while continuing to trickle young players into the lineup

Gino is lucky he didn't connect or he would be looking at a long suspension. Great hockey player, but he's a suck. Always has been. I think he may get a couple of games. Its wouldn't surprise me if he gets nothing.

this is true. I really hope they are sellers. Fletch needs to continue to rid himself of guys that should are not part of next years squad.

Such a weird game as I didn't think the Pens did anything great. Probably Hart's most average game. Made some good saves but like he said some he wanted back. Pens get some puck luck on the weird crosby goal. Momentum goal for Flyers gets taken away.

I fully on board with selling but still feel this team can make the playoffs. Just don't see teams like Carolina, Buffalo or even the Pens and Columbus running away from the Flyers.

Again was a weird game for me last night

Being labeled a repeat offender is not a judgement call. It is a technical term under negotiated guidelines under the CBA pertaining to the timing of past suspensions.

this is why i just feel the odds are so long for the flyers to make the playoffs after getting off to such a bad start. they get 19 of 20 points, lose one and find themselves 8 out. not impossible but not likely. just want to see them play well, the young players continue to improve and move on from players who are not part of the future.

i look at the Ducks with so many 30 plus players who were/are signed to long term deals and it reminds me why i don't want simmonds signed to a long term deal

JVR was so hot heading into the break and has been invisible since

rough game for Sanheim/provorov along with Giroux

pedestrian game from Hart. hasn't happened too many times

One loss and were sellers ? Win a few more games and best them at the stadium series and this whole game is negated. I sell pieces who wont be here next year - raffl simmer potentially. I dont sell my roster away. And I still look to buy on guys like dzingel stone Coyle etc who can be parts of our team moving forward.

The margin for error was and has been so small.

I don't think they are cooked yet, but the odds are too long.

The second goal was a screen, but Hart needs to have that. The Guentzel goal should have been stopped, he needs to get his blocker/stick down. More than Hart, though, Murray was on top of his game and the Flyers missed on a few of their chances. Pens were just more opportunistic.

I thought that the playoffs were a long shot before last night, but still enjoy that they're at least worth watching every night again.

Yeah. Even had they won this game in reg, the odds are against them in a big way. All the teams they are chasing will be playing one another and 3 pt games galore. Don't give up but sell any pieces you can because it's almost impossible for us to get in now
