Of course it’s only one game.....because Penguins and either Crosby or Malkin! If it were an average player on an average team, it would have been at least 4-5. It was a an attempt to injure. The inconsistency of the DOPS is a joke. |

no injury, no real contact, never been suspended in 10 years. 1 game is ok based on the other suspension lengths this yr. |

None of the suspensions are long enough. So, no. I love Malkin, but that should be 5-10 games regardless of your history. |

Bullpoop! They're pretty consistently bad across the board and everyone knows it. I agree that it should be more and I have no doubt that when you swing a stick that high, you intend to injure someone. But, everyone knew that it was going to be 1-2 games MAX because that's what they would have given any player. |

Can you honestly say they would have given a guy like Gudas 1 game? Let’s face it, the league has its favored status players. It’s the inconsistency and favoritism that annoys me. Just be honest and fair across the board. |

Gudas has a history.
Malkin does not have a history in player safeties view.
Not apples to apples.
But should have been 3-5. |

Raffl probably gets a call and that's it. No.history of diving. |

The problem is that the league has never punished Malkin before, so IAW the CBA rules he does not have previous history...now he does, so the league at least didn't give him another slap on the wrist...teams know they can get under his skin and get him to lose it...now that he has a suspension teams are going to push his buttons even more... |

It’s laughable. Malkin is a dirty player. He himself talks about keeping his temper in check. These type of plays will never disappear until everyone, stars included, are held accountable. |

It’s a shame nobody will clean his clock. Players know they can get away with it. I don’t think he would even care if he got 5 games. If Malkin knew he had to deal with a Tom Wilson type of player, maybe he doesn’t do that. |

I think geno was lucky to only get one game, you just can’t swing your stick around high like that, I’d have been fine with 3-10. But I also think the league needs to better job of protecting its stars, grubs like Raffl know they can goad geno into taking retaliatory penalties and that’s exactly what Raffl was trying to do. That’s a blind side headshot Geno took right before he freaked out and if the league really cared about player safety they’d call a penalty on that too especially in a 3-0 game when it’s clear Raffl is trying to incite something |

If you really think Tom Wilson playing on the Flyers in that game would have changed genos reaction in that split second then you’re an idiot. Geno was in full blind rage mode for a second after taking a blindside headshot, he didn’t even look where he was swinging his stick and could have just as easily hit one of his teammates or an official. Tom Wilson changes nothing in this instance |

Agree. Someone should just pound the hell out of him. Take the five minute penalty and be done with it. |

So now a gloved hand punch is a headshot? The kind of hits matt cooke got away with were blindside headshots. |

Yeah man totally. Poor Malkin is the victim here and was just doing his best to defend himself. |

Correction - you want to hurt Malkin, someone needs to take out Crosby. Then maybe Sullivan and the league will learn their lesson. It serves no purpose to take out the goon of the team, when the goon acts up take out the star player. That will stop all the non-sense. |

What Geno did is inexcusable, just saying the league has it’s part in this too. Even if they called the penalty on Raffl Geno was going to do that either way, I’m not trying to excuse what Geno did, just saying it’s not as black and white as some are painting IT to be |

Seems about right, could have been 2 games but he now will have a history so if he acts up again he will be viewed as a repeat attacker.
League does have a double standard for superstars which I have no problem with as (we pay to see the superstars) when no one was hurt or for first offence. If it continues they would need to start giving him the non-superstar treatment |
