Why do I continue to read Tanner stories?

I think Gandalf wasn't allowed to go full Gandalf, something about men having to figure it out themselves...even though the elves were responsible for evil going over there in the first place, but whatevs.

What do you mean "Where did the elves go?" The elves were from Aman which is across the ocean. That's where the elves were.

The dwarfs were busy fighting their own wars. The movies are only focused on Gondor and Mordor.

Gandalf only uses his powers against beings that are equal to him, such as the Balrog. It would immoral of him to use his magic against lesser beings.
