Coburn has been fine this season. Girardi is a dumpster fire.

Thank god for Cernak...

The Girardi thing was 100% predictable. We never should have signed him.

I figured it was okay to give him a shot- but not at that price tag.

Reclamation projects are fine, but no need to stick with 'em if they don't bear fruit.

On Sergachev: so, his offense hasn't been as good as last year, but I think he's looked better in his own zone and transitioning back to D on an opposing rush this year.

He's a good young player; needs some more seasoning, but I'll take him over D$ any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Has he been that bad? He has not been good since 2014

The Girardi signing was fine, he has just this year left and he gave them time to Cernak and Serg up to speed. Cernak is young so he will make mistakes and Girardi is a guy who can play 12 minutes a night if they give Cernak the night off, plus he's a solid guy on the PK who will sacrifice his body, something we don't really want Mac, Hedman, Serg, Stralman doing at this point of the season

No, every team needs a punching bag and he's ours.

How was it bad? They made it to ECF last year, best team by far in the NHL this year. What has it hurt? They did not make it to the Cup because they did not score, that's on the stars up front. How did it set them back at all?

Omg! How could I forget? Especially since the Bolts are STILL paying his buyout salary!

Really nice write up. I’m not sure Heddy is 100% yet. He seemed slower than his usual self last night and seemed to get beat off the puck a few times. I’d like to see Coop rest him up (along with Vasy) before the playoffs start. Could be where Giradi could spell him a few games over the next few weeks.

Girardi was already too slow for Tampa's style of play when the Rangers bought him out. We knew this. It was no surprise that he's a pylon with the heart of a lion..... but still a pylon. And frankly, he's prone to the occasional bone-headed mistake you usually see from rookies only. Just ask NYR fans about that.

For some odd reason, Tampa likes keeping a pylon or two on the roster at all times. Girardi and Callahan currently fill those roles now. As a mentor to the rookies, and in a sheltered 3rd pair or PK role, Girardi is tolerable. But I really don't get why we keep chaining him to Hedman and giving him too many minutes. Was Koekkoek really that bad?

I will never understand the Koekkoek debacle, had to be a Cooper thing. This team did that kid a major disservice. It's good to see him get the NHL reps in Chi Town, he played 20 plus minutes the other night in their win.

They play the L/R shot. Girardi is a right, Hedman is a left and Koekkoek was a left. Hedman could play the right of course but I think Hedman is more comfortable on the left and Koekkoek probably is too, I would think most are comfortable on their forehand. They put Girardi with Hedman but he doesn't play top 2 minutes, he plays 17 minutes a night and a lot of PK minutes.
