I am a big Preds fan but I am not sure we were watching the same game last night. The lines did not play well together after the line shuffling, there were too many turnovers and most of all Pekka misplayed the puck at least 5 times (maybe more) which led to the one goal. As far as I am concerned the Preds did not play well together and didn't look hungry for the win. I hope they can get it together going forward....

Thank You. I agree. Paul must have had his eyes somewhere else.

The first two periods were great. The last, not so much. Not sure if they thought 2-0 was really more like 10-0, but the effort was missing and the sloppiness returned.

And can someone tell me what Forsberg was trying to do at the very end when he had a chance to clear the puck and didn't, then turned it over, giving the Kings a freebie??

I've said it before but the hockey IQ of this team sometimes worries me.

I guess we can stop with all of the Duchene talk. Good for Columbus.

Maybe Paul only watched the Second Period where they did carry the play for most of the period... Well at least they seemed to have the puck for most of it. It was nice to see the Defense at least play decent for the first couple of periods. I'll take decent over what we've been seeing recently from them... Then the 3rd period happened. You knew the Kings weren't going to just lye down and quit, but our supposedly elite defense shouldn't have had so much trouble controlling a team whose struggled all year offensively.

Even with the goal, the PP still looked horrendous. The Second was the perfect microcosm of the Preds problems with the PP all year. Lose the face-off, the puck is cleared, roughly 20 seconds is shaved off the advantage. Skate the puck down, can't enter the zone cleanly. Either get turned away at the blue line, or the puck gets deflected back towards the Predators zone. Preds waste 20 more seconds passing the puck around trying to find a clear lane up the ice. Finally get the puck in the zone and set up, usually with less than a minute left to go, and have one of three things happen... Guy with the puck gets mugged, loses control, puck cleared. Preds finally get a shot off, and either miss the net or results in a blocked shot. PKers get control and clear the puck, PP over. It's pathetic to watch. I'm surprised the crowd hasn't resorted to groaning whenever Paul exuberantly announces the Preds are on the PP.

I'm about ready for DP to ship Fiala off to Sibera for a box of Twinkies. Here was his stat line last night... Gifted the puck practically in the offensive zone on the games opening shift, skate in for a prime scoring chance only to make a horrible pass that's intercepted and leads to a Kings rush the other way. Twice he's right in front of the net and receives beautiful feeds from Forsberg and can't get a shot off either time. On the 3rd power play he makes a turnover that leads to a shorthanded chance for the Kings, and on the same shift, over-skates the puck right in front of the net leading to a prime SH scoring chance for the Kings. The only other time I even heard his name was when he made the feed to Joey on the play where he hit the post. That's been Fiala in a nutshell though. If he's not noticeably doing something dumb, he's the NHL's biggest H.G. Wells fan. I really hope Poile trades him before the deadline before David gets the chance to stupidly overpay for this guy over the summer... You know, because of potential and talent.

You know what, maybe I shouldn't complain... For all the complaining we've done, and as bad as this team has looked at times this year, we're somehow in first place in the Central this morning... Of course every other team in the conference seems to have 300 games in hand on us, but still... What a weird season.

Bet the Jets are really pushing for Stone now. Poile may stand down and go with what we have. Good. I'd rather do that than overpay.

Good on Poile for not giving up the farm for Duchene. This team is not a cup contender...sorry they just aren’t.
