I think the word you're looking for is "pointless".
I hate it when a GM fires a coach on a losing team when the GM stripped the team of talent... |

Eklund: Guy Boucher: A Passive Aggressive Firing. Right Move or Ridiculous? - Eklund
"Guy, we are sorry, but we are going to have to let you go."
"Oh thank Jesus."
"It's just that we feel we..."
"No, no, no, I'm fine with it. Don't feel bad. Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you."
"We can tell you are very upset. Can we get someone to drive you home?"
"Actually, it would be great if you could give me a lift to the airport. Like, right now." |

I don't think it's pointless, sometimes with a rebuild you want to groom a coach with your younger players to grow together. That being said, Ottawa will be bad for a long time. I'm not sure any coach could drag this roster to respectability. |

As much as gene is to blame, the sens still finished 3rd worst last year with stone, dutchy, Hoffman and 3/4 of a year of Karlsson. |

He wasn't playing ball with management, the other night Batherson and Brown were called up and played under 10 mins. Sens have been wanting him to play the young guys more and he keeps coaching like he's 2 points out of the playoffs. Hell they had to trade Pyatt off the team just so Boucher couldn't play him any more.
Boucher deserves to go out on his terms but this firing had nothing to do with placing blame on him, its because of his reluctance to follow orders. Cant say I blame him. |

The Sens brass canβt seem to get it together, can they.
I think this is a boon for Boucher. The writings on the wall in Sens town. He still gets paid, and gets a free get out of jail card. Getting fired sucks, but in this case Boucher should be dancing all the way down the hall on his way out of the building. |

The real Coup would be to hire Keefe to coach all the young kids right out from under the Leafs..... |

Pierre Dorion said he met with #Sens players this morning. "I told them that our play recently wasn't acceptable." He said he told them: "No more excuses." π³

Classless. Let the dude finish the season. Dorian is a bum and should be fired himself. Every time I see him on tv he reminds me of a clown without the make up. He (Dorian) is running the team into the ground. |

Nobody is calling him a scapegoat. Everyone knows there are multiple issues at play. Truth is Boucher was the head coach for two consecutive horrible seasons. |

to be fair, even when he had talent (karlsson, Duchene, stone, dzingel, etc) it was still a last place team
not defending Dorion AT ALL, he also deserves to be canned....but Boucher has been a terrible coach the last couple of years. |
