Wild have a tough task against a squad that has well established chemistry and speedy scorers. But as they’ve shown over the last 4 games, they still have enough grit and ability to skate with the better teams.
Unfortunately their task tonight is made even tougher with their leading scorer out of the line up.
At this point the Dumba/Tkachuk ordeal is much ado about nothing. It’s not like Dumba got hurt from a dirty hit although it was a fight that stemmed from what Calgary deemed a dirty hit from Dumba which everyone in the entire hockey world knew was false and simply sour grapes in an attempt to save face. That aside, time to move on, nothing can be accomplished by seeking out retribution for an injury that could have happened against any team at any time. Gotta live in the now and continue to gel as a team with the new young acquisitions...
A win tonight would be quite an accomplishment. |

Your post is painfully biased. Take an objective view. The Dumba hit was dirty as it targeted the head and he left his feet as well.
[/img]https://assets1.sportsnet.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/1704050871_5976641999001_5976643202001-vs-1024x576.jpg
Both feet off the ground. Shoulder square to the face of Backlund.
Also, Lomberg is a total lightweight and of course he went to protect his player. Dumbas hit came with a minute left in a lopsided game. So if you make the decision to run a guy in that scenario, you’d better be prepared for the consequences. Anyone who argues that has never played “real” hockey. The millennial parent will argue that there’s no place for fighting and “how dare anyone” attack my child after he attacked someone else.
Now if Dumba had acted like a man about it and answered the bell to Lomberg, then Tkachuk wouldn’t have gone after him the next game. So it seems like a case of karma coming back on a guy who wanted to act like a big dog without dealing with any of the consequences.
To be clear, I like Dumbas game most of the time. But this was a stupid decision he made and I highly doubt he will do it again without answering the bell afterwards.
I think the situation has sorted itself out by now though and I doubt there will be any ripple effects from it tonight. |

Dirty hit or not, this is hockey. Im tired of hearing the whining on both sides about the whole ordeal. And anyone saying "its karma" dumba got injured, you better hope "karma" doesnt catch up with one of your stud players and derail your season. Everyone needs to move on. |

Ya his “shin on shin” actually wasn’t good but it was a reactionary play where gio felt bad about it and immediately tried to apologize for it. Dumbas was predatory. Big difference there. |

At least we can admit when a player’s made a mistake. There’s evidence that Dumba’s hit was dirty. Tough to argue against that. Gio stood in like a man does. Dumba turtled like a female dog..... |

This games means zero to the Flames besides potentially 2 points. Iginla gets his jersey retired, the game gets played... there is not a revenge factor, repercussions or karma factored in. Dumba's hit marginal, Gio's contact unfortunate, looong over.
Dan was hoping for the proverbial "Tanner hit parade" on the blog. |

Dan what crack have you been smoking saying Dumba was having a Norris type season? |

Your blogger brought this up. You are also posting about it. Just saying, seems like you are the one that needs closure. |

IMPRESSIVE! Very Impressive!
Say what you may, but it's another win over a good time and again without some of their top players. Credit the moves made and coaching. |

Bit of a surprise but very impressed with the resolve of this squad. Donato looking to be major trade victory. Not all that impressed with Fiala so far...
On a side note, Calgary seems to be mired in a culture of "dish it out but can't take it" hockey.. They love to dish out the punishment but lose their cool when getting the same. Good win!!! |

Dumba didnt fight because there was still almost a minute left in the game, he wanted to be able to try and score. He still fought with tkachuk the following game to answer for his hit, so quit acting like giordano is some patron saint becuase he fought old wrinkly matt hendricks. |

Ahh you win some you lose some. Anyways, good to see you guys are trending in the right direction. Let’s hope it’s a quick retool.
It’s a good rivalry and there is not a lot of love between our fan bases. Makes the games more interesting. |

Right on... For some reason the Flames looked to be in control til the 3rd period and then inexplicably took their foot off the gas pedal. wondering what you thought of the match penalty on Hathaway? Also, what’s the consensus on Smith? |

Haha He fought who came after him which is what a MAN does. Dumba turtled worse than you would if you got outside of your troll world and had to face an actual human being face to face.
Dumba was crying for his mom and probably only fought because the guys in the room probably gave it to him for being a little female dog.
The difference between flames fans and wild fans has already been demonstrated here. We are able to say when a player did something they shouldn’t have. You guys whine for momma when anyone suggests one of your players did something dumb.
I wonder why you’re on team number two there.....could be the lack of understanding your fans have.
