Finally, our top line is actually standing in front of the net & scoring goals by deflection! 55 should take some notes from 26 & 29. That’s how you build confidence & get your scoring touch back. It’s just like the Palomino at 2:30am... they all count. |

Come on Pete, can we stop piling on Myers until at least, he is on the ice for a goal scored against
I checked the past 2 games Myers Zero, and Trouba all 5. |

Yes. Myers made one mistake the whole game when the puck jumped over his stick and he took the penalty while trying to recover. He was also an offensive threat all night. Kulikov was actually quite good for the 10 or so minutes he played.
Niku might have had a goal but he was pretty terrible defensively tonight. The kid does make a lot of defensive positioning errors. The Columbus players were stickhandling around him and through him all night. He's going to be really good but he still has lots to learn.
Trouba was not good tonight. I haven't seen the advanced stats on the game but there is no way Trouba could possibly show up well. Probably Niku as well.
Copp , Tanev and Little definitely had an off night. Very uncharacteristic to see them trapped in the Jets zone most of the night.
I'm not sure what game Peter was watching but the clear bias against certain players is definitely compromising your articles. Fake news ! |

Helle 👍. Looking at the positives, sure liked Helle’s focus, he was zoned.
Safe to say the 1st line played well and Laine using his body to screen Bob on one of Wheelers goals was well played.
Give Kuli full of credit for stepping up with Foligno. Beaulieu continues to find a groove.
Not pretty but with Morrissey, Lowry, Buf out, managed to grab 2 points with the help of a very zoned in goalie. |

I saw the advanced stats this morning which matched up pretty well with the "eye test" of what we saw during the game. Trouba Cf% 36.59 Niku 32.14 Myers 55% Kulikov 60 . Tanev and Copp 13 % ! Little 32% Hayes 71 % ( team high) ..
Yep.... Fake news for sure .

How come you didn’t post these numbers after last game?
Face it, I agree PETE has a bias but so do most on here including you and I. Jets fans are clearly either on Team Myers or Team Trouba. |

If this column was written for the Nashville game it would have been accurate. No need to post. However, it was written for the Columbus game and completely inaccurate. So I posted.

Surprised Hayes was that high. For sure Kuli had a bounce back and Myers just keeps on working. |

I think its been Rexy saying for a long time that Tanev away from Lowry is not an NHL'er. 13% may prove just that!!! I'll give Copp a pass because we have seen him away from Lowry many, many times but Maurice knows you cant move Tanev away from him or this is what we will see.
cant pay or lock up a guy like that, #lethimwalk

I think he’s an NHLer now, just not one to be used anywhere but a 4th line at 5v5 |

Once again way too many shots given up by the Jets. If Helly doesn't stand on his head they lose. Maurice has to address this before the playoffs or the Jets may not win many games. |

Apparently there are two more trades going to occur that can help.
1) Big Buf and 2) JoMo
While I am on the topic of D, sure liking Beaulieu as he settle in. |

I am on neither of these teams. I'm on team trade Trouba and team let Myers walk for anything >5.
Oh, and can we please stop using Trouba as a QB on PP1? Until someone is healthy, I'd rather see Myers or Niku. |

Buff and JoMo can’t fix the defence just by being back. It’s been bad all year |

Meyers has really elevated his game over the past 10 games or so. Maybe its the added TOI he is getting, but he has looked strong. Trouba just needs better decision making skills, and to stop taking minor penalties. Great skater, but certainly not worth committing 8M+ over a long term. Hopefully he becomes that caliber, but for now, he is a 5.5M-6M D man in my opinion. |

Beaulieu has proven to be a steal for a 6th rd pick, and Kuli is doing a great job on the Left. But we need a healthy Jomo for playoffs |

That and the penalty kill. It's almost automatic that the Jets give up a goal at least once a game while shorthanded |

No one is choosing teams.
Many on this board consider Trouba to be "an elite #1 d-man". Most nights he gets beat by the other teams #1 d-man, essentially meaning that he is unable to be that guy. Trouba is according to TSN1290 asking for 8 million + per year.
Myers is our 4-5 guy. Most nights he is better than the other teams 4-5 guy. No one knows what he is contractually asking for. When speaking about Winnipeg, he speaks glowingly and has never requested a trade out of Winnipeg. Seems like a great locker room guy. This is highlighted by the team playing Celine Dion songs after victories last season. Myers really enjoys her music.
Based on the above, Trouba is overrated while Myers is underrated. |

Jets almost took Bealieu over Scheifele in their inaugural draft. Imagine how that would have changed history. |

I don’t care who’s over rated or under rated (I’d say you can argue both may be over rated ) I just want the better player and that’s clearly Trouba. Your post by the way, clearly shows you are taking sides, admit or not. I know you are. |

I gotta agree with what ultimate said in the last blog. Trouba had 2 chances to sign long term deals and it didn't happen, and he could have signed January 1. It's not happening.
Plus most of the posters want to rid the Jets of Morrow,Chiarot, and Kulikov
With that in mind what are the Jets realistic options, sign Myers or run a defense that looks like this:
Poolman-Byfuglien
Morrissey-Niku

I still play hockey three times a week whereas Rexypoo has never played a game in his life so I'm not partnering with him plus I'd hate to see him mouth off to Maurice every time we got to the bench. I'm also a righty so please pair me with Morrissey.....thx.
