I'll blindly assume this wasn't adjusted for ties/shootout wins...and therefore is completely useless and misleading |

shocked that since 1990 that only expansion teams/teams who have moved have had the highest winning percentage.
I really thought it would have been someone like the Bruins or Wings or Philly or Jersey... |

Is this based on what NHL considers winning %?
Because if you take away the Whalers, the Canes all time win % is .521
Love the Whalers but they were never, ever good. |

This might seem relevant to anyone who just completed Grade 2 math but Eklund just wasted x amount of time with this useless article. |

I loath when records for the Jets 2.0 include Atlanta or Arizona. This is a new team with no connection to those cities and what they did so I wish the pendents stopped doing this. It was a fresh start for Winnipeg so stop tying them to the past.

To correct in part a franchise on your "70's Expansion" listing, the "NJ/Colorado" franchise originally began as the Kansas City Scouts in the 1974/75 season for its first two seasons of existence. They relocated first to Denver to become the Colorado Rockies from the 1976/77 season through the 1981/82 campaign, prior to later moving for good to become the NJ Devils effective in the 1982/83 season.
The listing should read as "NJ Devils / Colorado Rockies / Kansas City Scouts" as far as its NHL history goes. |

It is hard to compare 50 year of the Flyers or MUCH LONGER of Montreal vs. 1.5 years in Vegas as that is just too short a period of time.
Add in one of the Flyers' losing streaks from this year and with the sample size - you'd see them drop like a rock on this list.
With that said - good for Vegas for doing as well out of the gate as they have being an expansion franchise. I like their deadline moves and signings too. They are a great plus-minus team for us fantasy players. |

Apples and oranges.
3 point games didn’t happen until recently.
Take out “loser points” and run it again. Or better still make all OT or shootout games into ties with 1 pt each and re run it. Then you have a usable methodology. |

I guess 24 Stanley cups isn't quite good enough to eclipse a team that has less than 2 seasons worth of games played. |

Ek using OT/shootout losses as if they were ties, meaning this is points earned percentage instead of winning percentage, which gives a huge leg up to teams formed more recently, as they spent a higher percentage of their lifespan in this inflated points era.
If you're going to do this sort of article, do it right. Put actual winning percentage. |

Thanks for the laugh, Eklund is a moron. The cherry on top is when he put Vegas before Montreal. Anyone who has studied would die of laughter from seeing Eklund compare a team that has been around since 1909 to a team that has been around since 2017
