First.
Bill do you think Morin will get in soon? They aren't getting much help from the teams above them. Playoffs chances looking slim. Would like to see him get some games.

Nice to see Myers starting to assert himself on the ice

Maybe they were due for a game like this.

At the same time, I think it would be easier to take this run at a playoff spot more seriously if they played with an opponent like the Caps for 60 full minutes and not need a desperate push in the 3rd period to make it close.

Myers appears to be real deal. Lindblom is the real deal. Expansion draft they will lose a good player or picks and a decent player

There are some positives in what will go down as a disappointing season. I really like the play of both Sanheim and now Myers. They both don't look overwhelmed, which is great for young D....I would play the poop out these two the rest of the year. I will add in Morin as well, who if healthy should get some quality time.
as well, Lindblom has really stepped up the last 20 games or so...not that he was struggling but he is starting to become an offensive force out there...I think the Flyers really have a good one there.

It was Laughton, I think, who was really on point about “watching” the Caps play. Viewing the game, especially in the first half, I would see our guys literally stop skating, stop being active with their stick, stop playing their position and just watch the Caps players and puck as plays developed around them.

Added to wish list for next season: I don’t want to repeatedly hear that the “effort” wasn’t there in the entire first half of games.

Yah, I like how they are playing especially when Hart was in net. Its a positive view for the future even as soon as next year. However, I am not a fan of opening up the wallet and spending big bucks and term on free agents this year even though its going to be a very good group. I rather fill spots with Frost and other prospects. I don't think Ratcliffe will be ready next year but he will be soon after that and adds size and morin would be a good gudas replacement when that time comes. Just my two cents. I wonder after Simmonds sees the offers that are presented he would like to come back to philly for a 3rd/fourth liner.

Ratcliff will probably need some time in the "A".....I wondered about offers for Simmonds as well. I can't see anyone going long term. I watched the end of the soo game last night...Frost had a 5 minute shift in the last 7 minutes or so and came off the ice once. Kids a gamer.

It kinda was. And it's not the first time we've seen this thing where they stink for 40 minutes, then breath fire for the last 20 minutes to try to make it a game.

Could be a result of their current streak. They have been playing playoff hockey for over a month now. Perhaps the team is gassed at this point

I watched until 3-0. I hope we can squash the "trade Voracek " talk. Unless of course another playmaker would come back in the deal.

They looked liked a bunch of chimps on heroin trying to garner any offense.

Except when people use the word "gay" they are uing the term to mean "lame" and "retard" for "stupid". Words in the english language always have multiple meanings, which is part of why the language is so complicated. In fact the original meaning of gay was happy. So if the word can be twisted to mean homosexual why cant it be twisted to mean lame? Anything you say can be offensive, it doesnt have to be derogatory. If you call someone an idiot, they are offended. If you say people with glasses are nerds, some people will be offended.

There are times where yea something shouldnt be said but everything right now if someone doesnt like something its automatically offensive and cant be said. You have billions of people in the world everything is going to offensive to someone. I get offended when girls say there are no good guys out or all the good ones are gay there because to me thats saying Im not a good guy and that there is something wrong with me. I dont like it but it is their right to speak their opinion.

From the previous blog, I just need to say something about this. First off I am very, very conservative and I hate how PC is being used to divide this country so we aren't too far off on our opinions.

And yes words have multiple meanings. The N word, the R word, the word that means a bundle of sticks... All have multiple meanings. Thankfully we have multiple words that mean the same thing. So if you mean stupid, you can say stupid or another similar word.

In this changing PC climate there is no need to say these really offensive words. And yes, sometimes there is no telling if a word or phrase is offensive. MOST people that are offended will tell you politely the word is offensive and not get triggered by a simple mistake (Internet warriors aside). The people that do get offended by using a pronoun when you had no idea are just as bad as people that use slurs on purpose. Its rude and divisive.

So I live by a simple rule. Once someone tells me something is offensive I will stop saying it. I used to say "Gay" and bundle of sticks and Retard all the time when I was young. Then I had a gay friend and let it slip a few times. She didn't care or say anything but I was embarrassed. Then I got a job working with severe needs students.... General rule, if a word has a derogatory meaning and is associated with with a gender, race, culture, etc. stop using that word. These are things that people can't change, but you can change your word choice without changing the meaning of what your saying.

example: That movie was so retarded. Offensive.

Example 2: That movie was so stupid. That movie was so dumb. That movie was so pedestrian. Not offensive.

It's all a matter of training yourself not to say these words. Yes, freedom of speech, I get it. But there is also this thing called the golden rule.

That's putting it mildly. 8 of the the league's top 12 teams are in the East. Columbus are 13th and currently out of a playoff spot.

Morin should get a chance soon unless the Flyers suddenly start winning every game. Cause that's what they will need to jump over two of the teams above them.

I dont feel like it had anything to do with playmaking. Everyone's passing was off in the 1st, the Flyers kept dumping and chasing but no one was really chasing and defensively the Flyers overall were just clearing the puck any time they touched it. The panicked the second the puck hit their stick. Voracek wouldnt have made a difference unless he did something on PP.

OK TK called Malkin a Nerd, I am a nerd. I find it offensive. So no one should be able to use the word Nerd in a derogatory way right?

imo Issac will need more AHl time than some people may think; he may be slow to develop at the pro level which is fine.

anyone seen labarge play yet this year?

I really hope Frost plus one other makes the team next year. Either Ratcliffe or Farabee would be nice, but I guess I would take NAK.

I also think Fletcher is going to go all-in in free agency. Im thinking like Suter/Parise. So maybe he goes after Karlsson and either Duchene or Panarin. I would prefer Duchene because he can play center and wing.

A friend and I did the math last night and if the cap goes up to 83-84 million like I heard, and the flyers move out Macdonald without taking a contract back and Gudas or Ghost then we should be fine cap wise.

They lost Belly last time, but protected Stollie and Laughton last time. Those kind of guys will be exposed. There are going to lose ONE good player this time. They have more talent that needs protecting. Never know who the new team will take but the Flyers will have 6 or 7 D men that could be at some level of NHL quality. D are harder to come by. May come down to losing Haag or Morin

Ratcliffe would need ahl time I believe your right. Lacszyniski I feel can play a bottom 6 role next year. If he signs. He better sign.

I don't really want them to go after Karlsson, but I wouldn't mind the other two.

Hayes is interesting too because he can play RW. I’m beginning to lean to him but Winnipeg has such a need for him also. He can slide over to RW if and when frost is ready to take a top 9 C role. Karlsson makes no sense
