Do you think the Flyers will appeal this suspension to cut it down to 1 game? I feel we have plenty of evidence between the Mantha head smash and Gabriel’s hit on Patrick to argue with Jake’s interference.

DOPS is a joke. Not having Jake in the lineup against the Caps will make things even more difficult. We should take Ottawa tonight, but you never know with games like this. Hopefully the Flyers don't take them lightly.

Inconsistent BS DOPS strikes again. A guy can swing his stick in a violent manner (with intent to injure) at someone's head, and he only receives a one game suspension. But, another guy can brace himself for impact of another player charging at him, and accidentally make contact with the charging player's head, and he receives two games.

Great as always...I am just taken by how Voracek is penalized because someone was charging him. Interesting. If Voracek doesn't brace and throw the shoulder he gets splattered...and the puck is no closer to him in that instance than it was when he threw his shoulder...and that was what Boychuck was hoping for. So, since they love to penalize intent, why isn't there any mention of the charge?

Also, would this be the game to try to get Morin in? Gordon knows him from the Phantoms. He could be the 7th dman instead of AMac.

Just a thought.

I just can't fathom how jake got two games for that incident. Absolute garbage.

I'm really excited for the Washington game and the Islanders game. 2 games the players NEED to have marked on the calendar. The Caps for utterly embarrassing them a week ago and the Islanders for all the poop that went on after the Voracek non-check. If the points weren't enough to get up for... If I'm Hartman I tell the whole bench if anyone takes a run at Voracek that he will rag-doll Barzel.... consent or not.

I am still stunned. This suspension is insane. I thought he deserved a 2 min penalty for interference. The 5 major blew my mind. The suspension is laughably bad. Time to bring in some outside people who don't have prejudices into DOPS.

I don't have an issue for how the DOPS ruled on the hit in the play. However I cannot reconcile how that is worth 2 games and Malkin's actions are worth 1. How players such as Marchand are constantly let off the hook. How plays that seem to be worse are let go and no suspension. Does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

Just another reason why they NHL is fast becoming more of a joke then it already is.

100% the play was an interference penalty on Jake. No one can question that.
You can question if it was a major.
To get a 2 game suspension for it is arguably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen.

If Commissioner Bettman doesn’t look up and smell the rotten eggs soon, folks will and should leave the room. The saying that if they’re talking about it, it’s good for business....that doesn’t apply here. Food for thought: Here is a recent example of non-penalized play...that did not receive supplemental discipline.
