I don’t get comparing Gudbranson and Marcus Petterson to Gudbranson and two centers. I’m trying to make sense of that comparison. |

And that's worse than petulant writers...right? |

I wouldn't say he blew up Pettersson. He attacked Pettersson for nothing. He deserved an extra 2 for starting the poop. Too bad his head didn't hit the ice because he's the kind of player that deserves it. Not saying it's necessary, but it also doesn't hurt when you can stand up to a cheapshotting scumbag. |

I thought the pens won until I read this. Must’ve lost 6-2 with those defensive numbers |

That was my one regret about that whole thing...I wish Wilson's helmet fell off during the scrum before Gud slammed him to the ice. He needs to go, and as I think Grinder said the NHL protects him...to the detriment of skilled hockey players and fans alike. |

Has Jultz been Sid's line primary D pair during their awful stretch? It looks like they're rolling D.
that game was awful for Trottman. When he was first playing he wasn't too noticeable. Last night was horrid and he seemed to give up a good chance a shift. |

Trottman is playing above his paygrade right now. It’s hard to criticize a player who’s basically a #8 playing in the top pair. All things considered, he performing as well as can be expected. |

But then he compared him and Marcus to him and Sutter. I was like wtf? Now you’re just plucking garbage on purpose. |

RW pretty much hated Sutter so I'm guessing it was an awkward attempt to throw a little more shade in Suttsy's direction. |

I have a buddy that gave up smoking like 20 years ago. Every once in a while he'll have a butt and you can literally see the pure pleasure on his face with every drag.
Bashing Sutter is like that for RW. |

Typical Caps Pens game...Caps outplay them but the Pens take advantage of the few scoring chances they get and put them in the back of the net. Reminded me of the 2016-2017 playoff series. See you in the second round, duders |

I only saw the 3rd period, but the Caps transition game was electric. Pens have made strategic decisions to add "grit" (no one still knows why), yet a lot of their forwards still have the mentality of a run and gun speed game. They need to make better decisions at the offensive blue line to facilitate a more unified, controlled pace of play if they're going to beat the Caps in the playoffs. |

Just wanted to take this opportunity to again say thanks for Spronger. Kid is a sniper and building confidence daily.
12G in 37 games and only 21. For whatever reason it didnt work in Pittsburgh it’s been a blessing for us. Marcus seems like a good fit, trade worked out for both of us. |

This is a game IMO where the eye test may have masked how well the Pens played.
The possession metrics definitely go to the Caps and while they out-chanced the Pens, the Pens had more quality chances.
Both teams were bailed out by big time goaltending and while the Caps dictated the pace, the Pens played smart by not trying to play the Caps game. They countered and countered well. |

It will be sad when he sits instead of JJ when Maatta returns. The Pettersson/Gudbranson pair is solid. |

One thing I will never understand is why other people think it’s a cardinal sin if you choose to enjoy both positive possession metrics and the “Tom Wilson stuff”? Gudbranson has good game in shot chances; awesome. Gudbranson blows up Wilson in the corner and gets rough with him to the delight of many fans ( and Guentzel ); equally awesome! Both of these things existed in the same game. I guess I missed the rule book quote that said you must choose... |
