Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Jan, I never got to send condolences, but I hope your family is doing well.

As for hockey, The remainder of the season is really looking for sparks from younger players. If D"Angelo, Buch, Georgiev, etc. can continue to play well, that's about the best we can hope for going into next season. Hopefully, Strome maintains his play so they can eventually either resign him to a low cost contract or trade him for assets/as part of a bigger deal. I'd like to see Freddy play out the season, as well.

As for Pionk, it will probably never happen, but they should move him to wing and just let him focus on offense. I can't see any other way he stays in the NHL long term.

Nobody should be rooting for this team to win another game the rest of the year. Hopefully Anaheim, New Jersey, Vancouver and Buffalo can string together a few wins thus leaving the Rangers in the rearview mirror.

Who cares if the ship has sunk?? This is a rebuilding year, we all knew that. We need losses. The better the pick the better the player, the faster the rebuild. I dont want anymore wins.

Let’s not get too crazy about sinking ships. We all bought in to the crash and rebuild. This is just the second and hopefully last crash. Next year we make the playoffs and the year later it’s the finals! See how easy that was! Deep breath’s people, deep breath’s!

I am far from overreacting, just stating a fact. Team was playing well earlier. Following trades, crashed and burned. That's in line with rebuilding.

That's pretty much their current sad story, which I hope doesn't have a negative impact on their youth's development with frustration having settled in. After Zucc was dealt, they lost that 6-5 OT road game to the Caps in battling them physically and chance wise throughout. Then once Hayes was dealt the next day hours prior to the deadline, their rebuilding team "crashed and burned" as you worded, in the next 10 games thereafter.

That resulted in their current 1-5-4 record after the deadline, (and a 1-5-5 net record after Zucc was dealt), in scoring just 19 total goals (incl. 1 empty netter), and yielding 34 goals (incl. 3 e.n's.) in their last 10 games. Even worse, they have scored 2 or fewer goals in 8 of them, plus 3 goals each in the other two, when not including the empty netter scored against the Devils in that one win. In contrast, had they alone after the All Star break lost all 3 games played thus far this season against the Devils in regulation time, the Rangers lottery chances would be looking that much better today with the two team's points totals being reversed.

The Rangers tanking means may have come a little too late to finish in the bottom five of the league, since they cannot control the possible tanking of those projected as of today to end up in the bottom five.

Of their 10 remaining games, the only three projected bottom five teams they will face are the Wings, Devils, and Sens, with close to a miracle needed to finish lower than either, as well as the Kings. There is a slight chance they could end up as the 5th worst ranked team should the Ducks surprise some teams with some additional wins as they have had recently.

You should thank me, ever since I stopped watching like 2 weeks ago this team has decided to go full tank mode

we'd pick 5th right now if the lottery doesn't change anything

edit: technically Anaheim is still ahead of us in draft standings because we have games in hand, so it's actually 6th

20 years ago they didn't do nearly the kinds of conditioning testing they do nowadays

no way it would have went unnoticed that Brendl was actually a lazy out of shape poopburger

''He's got all the potential,'' Nedved said. ''We'll see how quickly he adjusts.'
Didn't know we lost Sunny to pick Brendl.

Mike York, Fleury, Nedved...that article brings back some memories.

Tin-foil hat conspiracy theory time on this slow Monday.

The NHL is conspiring to have the Rangers get the #1 overall pick in part by instructing officials to make calls benefiting their opponents. Discuss

Nope. NHL offciating is just bad. Justin St. Pierre (shocking) and Tim Peel missed Anton Khudobin throwing his stick to make a save... on a penalty shot.

Edit: The best is St. Pierre just shakes his head like the god damn neanderthal that he is when Green knows Khudobin threw the stick.
