Only player of relevance that the flu hit was Giroux and he played with it in a game they won. Yeah Hartman and Myers got it too but they are not big enough to cost the Flyers a game. The Montreal game was a must win and that loss pretty much ends it. Flyers need CBJ, CAR and MON to go less than 0.500 the rest of the way and its probably not going to happen.
Pretty much only chance at the playoffs is going 7-2-0 and CAR loses to everyone but MTL and NJ. Probably not going to happen. They wait too long to decide to finally start playing. After that MON game I have no faith in the team or the coach to pull out victories in a meaningful games.
Flyers coach literally put the top players out with 2 mins left, did not put the goalie and waited until Giroux came off to actually pull the goalie. Not even a Peewee coach would do something so stupid. Who the hell pulls their goalie WITHOUT their top player on the ice. |
