I stopped watching after two periods . Brossiot should not have let in any of those goals not that it would have changed the outcome of the game. Morrow is beyond terrible. Trouba must be -4 by now. Kulikov can't make a decent pass if his life depended on it , and Laine is a destroyer of lines and made some horrific plays tonight. I wish Maurice would have the guts to bench him for a game and put and Hendricks in there. I also sometimes wonder if Hendricks might have been brought in to also be the Laine whisperer.....lol. So far it hasn't helped though.

The only positive is that Connor is back on that first line, although I also like the space that Ehlers creates on the top line. I'd actually like to see a line that is Connor-Hayes-Laine so that Laine can be back on the right side where he would be stronger on the boards.

Looks like jets are playing to slow the game down to a crawl in the 3rd. Maybe should have tried that from the start considering the back to back

The positives I see are that we had the second and third best goalies in the game, no injuries, and no one can be complacent with their game as none were going. Might give a passing grade to Ehlers who was skating well.

The morrow gift was actually a hard pass that was knocked out of the air. Morrow shouldn’t have made the pass but (Smith?) made a good play to get the takeaway, a patient move around Morrow and then get the goal. Morrow made a solid attempt to redeem himself but failed boldly.

I knew this would happen. Back to back for us and Vegas off for 3 days. But that being said. Morrow and Laine were terrible

I saw one positive from this game but an important one. While we may lose 1 point to Nashville last night, our loss give Vegas another 2 pts clear on Dallas ( who lost). If we maintain first place I'm sure we do not want to be facing Vegas in the first round . This was a possibility, but last night loss may have actually helped us in that respect.

Now all as the Jets need to do is hold on to first place. Circle the Nashville game on Saturday night as a HUUUUUUUGE game .

Saturdays game will go a long way to determine who wins the division. I am not as afraid of St.Louis as I was a month ago. Bishop may actually be the one to avoid in playoffs. whatever will be will be.

Learn and move on

Quit watching early 3rd period ... I know of 4 couples that went down to that game ... cause it was in "Vegas, baby" ... don't do it ... plan your road trips to watch the boys elsewhere

Yes ... tomorrow's game sets tone of stretch to playoffs

As Jetsnation said - keep 1st place in Central and let Vegas beat up on San Jose ... I'll take Dallas round 1 over all others

Whether the Jets win or lose, two of the best U.S destination to watch the Jets are Vegas and Nashville. It's not always about the final score or even the game itself but rather the environment around it.

There was little to no chance Winnipeg was going to play Vegas in the first round. The top 3 teams stay in the division. You would need Arizona to have more points and they were 9 behind Vegas with 8 to play before they beat the Jets

Jack Roslovic's "development" under Paul Maurice: 13 minutes in the nhl stanley cup conference final against Vegas, to healthy scratch twice in a week for Matt Hendricks.

Seems Maurice picked up on my post and did exactly what I suggested and moved Ehlers to the top line and has Laine on the right side of second line with Connor. My bet is this is going to work like a charm.

BIG game tonight:

Jets projected lineup:

Ehlers – Scheifele – Wheeler
Connor – Hayes – Laine
Tanev-Lowry-Little
Hendricks – Copp – Perreault

P.S. I don't honestly think Maurice reads this blog or the column but it's nice to see what are my preferred combos on the top two lines . I still think Copp should be back on the TLC and move little down with Perreault and Roslovic on the fourth ( with the occasional splash of Hendricks)

I have been waiting to see this second line for awhile now. I said this before that Hayes should try centering Laine.

Laine is so much more potent coming down that right side where the puck is protected on his stick and there is less chance of the shot being blocked. If you look back at the times during his NHL career where he was most effective it was on the right side.

Ehlers looking quite awesome on that first line. I doubt we will see another change for a while if these two lines keep playing like they did in the first period.

Nathan B is so much better out there than Joe M. It's not even close. He's been a great pickup on the cheap for Chevy.

Yes agreed with Nathan B being a much better option with Trouba than Morrow. Great pickup. A bit early to start thinking about this but who comes out when Morrisey or Buff comes back? Kulikov?

Second line was awesome. Hayes seems to make something out of nothing and he likes to dish it, and his two wingers like being fed. Connor is so slippery in tight. Great win.
