Step 1 - fire Housley
Step 2 - hire coach X" and get excited
Step 3 - fire coach "X" after he disappoints

Repeat.

Good shot by Nylander last night. Might as well keep him up on the squad in a top 6 role. Bring up Asplund and Pilut as well. Sit Sobotka and any D not named Montour or Dahlin. Let's see what all of our young Swedes have to give at the NHL level.

What are the chances he takes the Murray route and holds strong on his coach?

If we in any way finished the season strong, I'd be fine with Phillip getting a 3rd year.

But this has been disgusting to watch. No heart, no passion. Jack ECHL, Barf Skinner, Sam Whineheartless and the rest of this team are a bunch of bums until they start winning consistently.

I don't think he can...just looking at the results--2nd team in nhl history with a 10-game winning streak that will miss the playoffs, lost three in a row to T.O., the first time that happened since 1972...and not only that, they regressed since their November run

You would have to think the Sabres would opt for an experienced coach after the Housley experiment. The whole "let's bring the band back together" plan didn't work in Edmonton nor will it work in Buffalo
Hiring another inexperienced coach, this time on the basis of his nationality would be another mistake. Besides, the reason they will be in Stockholm next season is they could have 6-7 Swedes on their roster next season.

I agree about the swede thing, as for Quenneville, i'm not so sure about him as the sabres coach...for some reason I think Vigneault would be a better fit

That ten game winning streak included 7-8 wins in either OT or SO. Good fortune more than anything
Chicago lost ten in a row during a season and then went on to win the Cup
I guess one can find a stat for almost anything

that 10-game winning streak was all about riding a tidal wave of confidence...a fall came, as expected, and they never recovered
