Pomms is done after this year. Wild had to buy out Ennis. Foligno provides next to nothing with the Wild. Scandella is gone after next year if he isn’t moved this offseason.
- Pegullaville

The Sabres took on salary in the deal and didn’t get any better. Scandella has been atrocious and Pom has been kind of disappointing considering his chubby contract.

I don’t think JB should be puffing out his chest and bragging about this deal.

Scandella was semi-useful last year and Pominville has been the best statistical performer in that deal. Would you rather be paying Ennis (along with Hodgson) for the next 5 years to play elsewhere ? It wasn’t a glamorous trade by any means but Pomms has been a good vet and can bid farewell this offseason. Scandella is a problem but not as big as foligno and Ennis’ buyout would have been.

And taking on Scanner and Pommer?
- PrinceChill

Yes, but ennis was bought out.

Pommer has 15 goals this season.

Advantage buffalo

What were your expectations with pommer?

Pommer has three more points than Okposo. People have been killing Kyle all year, including me. To pretend that Jason has earned his salary or that his veteran leadership has held this team together this season is a little mystifying.

Pommer has 15 goals.

We're terrible.

I wouldnt say he warented 5 plus million.
Not even close.

His situation and nostalgia is:

Just better then buying out Tyler ennis and having him play for a different team. Continuing to pay him.

Losing Skinner will hurt,
but it might be best for the long term

- jdfitz77

but then we are tanking next season and maybe trying to sneak into the 8th spot the following season, if no lock out

and thus in essence wasting 6 of eichel's 11 years as a sabre

I hear what you’re saying. And I suspect we just might be spending too much time breaking down a deal that did neither team much good at all.

I agree.

I respect your opinion.

Kyle is really the one guy on this team that needs to go.
6 million is tough

Not as tough as the years left in that deal...”thank you GMTM, your contributions...”

Or it could be 2022-2023 and Skinner is a 45-50 point player making $9M under contract for another 4-5 years and we have no cap space to sign our top 10 pick or anyone to surround our core and we are stuck in cap hell. We’ll never know.

The success of the Amerks is a feel-good story, but I wish they were led by good young prospects instead of 30 year old career AHLers.
- PrinceChill

Three out of the top four scorers on the amerks are olofsson, smith and O’Regan who aren’t 30 year old vets. I’ve thought our prospects have looked very good the rochester this season.

Admittedly, I haven’t checked in a little while. Last time I did it was Redmond and some guy named Simpson (god, I hope he wears 32) near the top.

I’ve got a good deal of hope invested in Olo, which automatically concerns me. But having a shooting machine is just what this team needs.

I thought CJ proved he can play in this league as he was at least as good as a good deal of the vets here. With the season lost, I was fine with him going back down.

In very limited time, I didn’t notice O’Regan much, other than his wheels. Maybe there’s a bit more than than I was giving credit for.

I expected 20/20ish and if he played on Eichel's wing all year he would have had it. Reinhart is not faster than Pominville.

Asplund, for one. Kid has turned the corner.

Borgen. Pilut.

No, there isn't a guy just ripping apart the AHL, but there's lots to like.

Sabres will make a huge jump next year with some minor moves and re-signing Skinner
