What could be bad about an unvaccinated person visiting the ICU or new mother portion of a hospital?

Nope. Fletcher's gonna trade a bunch of our best young players/prospects for veteran quick fixes.
- jmatchett383

That term “quick fix” really gets a bad rep. I’d like holes to be filled quickly (by the start of next season), and I don’t think of myself as crazy for thinking we have the abundance of young players, prospects and draft picks to make it happen without creating any shortages down the road.

I agree.

But, when Fletcher was hired, a bunch of people, or at least a handful of people, assured me that he was going to start trading a bunch of our top young assets away to salvage this season.

When I recently asked where all the trades are, they then said he's gonna do it this summer. I find that odd, since this season will be over by this summer.

Oh..I saw them. Still do...about this summer. And the first prospect, draft pick or young player to be dealt will no doubt bring out the fear of Fletcher “action” group again in all it’s glory.

This is the calm before the storm.

Yep. Hey, if we can hold onto Frost, Farabee, and our top young pros and high draft picks to add impact players for both next season and past, then great. However, if we wanna go down the trade path, we may have to part with good young players. As long as it's a trade that is part of a plan and not a quick fix, they should be considered.

I agree on Niinimaa. Not sure why, just was never a big Joni fan. I guess it's probably because his go-to move was to skate down the left side, get to the offensive goal line at the boards, and just throw it on net, and then circle behind the net. He just never lived up to that #4 overall pick here.

Hextall liked to micro manage everything. He picked all of the assistant coaches and locker room spies (Murphy). He maintained a level of control over Hakstol that most experienced NHL coaches would never stand for. So to say he was “loyal” to Hakstol was really a misnomer. Hakstol was his puppet that he tried to control until it all blew up. Very thankful both are gone.

Just seems like we are likely to lose Allison and lacsynski. If lacsynski doesn’t sign this summer we can kiss him goodbye.

I choose Niinimaa because Pitkanen was a fourth overall pick that never even sniffed what a number defenseman should be. He was careless and selfish. We needed him to be Provorov 15 years ago and he didn’t try.

Hakstol, not that I have seen. I did read at least 2-3 articles that described the micro managing down to some really absurd levels “ no pizza in the locker room”. The spies issue was also discussed and seemed to be confirmed with the immediate ouster of Murphy. Apparently Hextal trusted nobody (Homer included) that wasn’t in a very small circle of confidants. Lombardi being one of them.

Agree. I am excited to see the plan unfold. There are too many moveable parts and options to have a solid guess at next season’s roster yet. However, when the pieces start being played, it will be fun to start guessing. Of course, then I hear those folks screaming “stand pat” and it loses some of the fun.

Hextall had his faults and I am sure some of the things that came out were true. I also read a lot of stuff from anonymous sources which is bothersome to me. I don't blame Hextall for trying to keep things private. Look at how the Hakstol firing went down, that was a mess.

Agree with what you say. But there were even office workers that were quoted as being “Relieved” when he was let go. He apparently had some personality problems in just every day to day things. That may seem trivial but getting along with coworkers is really important in the long run. How many people that worked there were really sorry to see Hextall go?

Worst. Day. Ever.

They announced earlier that Supernatural will end after next season which will be it's 15th.

That poop makes me sad more then the Flyers missing the playoffs this year.

Yup. There are moves that can be made that don't involve trading picks for 35 yr old players which is the extreme a few guys like to take around here whenever you suggest moving picks/prospects/young players.

We have a number of goalie prospects behind Hart. There is no way we really need more than two of them at this point. O'Brien is so far down the road and we already have Coots, Patrick and Frost among others in front of him. We have a number of pretty decent wing prospects. They can stand to make a substantial move or two without "selling the farm".

Personally I really would not be surprised to see O'Brien being moved this off-season. Our centers are young enough and we've got enough of them in the system that turning him into something else that can help sooner makes a lot more sense to me.
