This is entirely possible. If Bob gets hot, he can steal a series.

Regular season success means jack now. Every team has a clean slate.

I hope the Jacket players don’t read this. They may think there’s no reason to play the game.

Simply put: Dzingel and Duchene surrender more than they manufacture. On Ottawa, their line with Bobby Ryan was a -24 Corsi Plus-Minus with a -4 Goal Plus-Minus in just under 200 minutes. As a duo in Ottawa, they had a -37 Scoring Chances Plus-Minus.

It is almost like OTT was the worst team in the league.

Since Duchene and Dzingel were traded to Columbus from the Ottawa Senators at the deadline, they have played 16 games with Anderson (for over 100 minutes at 5v5) and this line has a -15 Corsi Plus-Minus. As a duo, Duchene and Dzingel have a -17 Scoring Chances Plus-Minus since joining the Blue Jackets. That is really bad!

The only thing really bad here is your use of statistics. Nobody uses raw corsi. Nobody uses corsi in terms of plus minus.

Playoffs, smelloffs! Lets take a moment to appreciate the season we just witnessed!

-Stamkos all time goal scorer!
-Our 2 goalies winning 10+ games in a row!
-#1PP #1PK #1offense
-Ryan McDonagh ONE POINT away from the +/- lead while getting next to no PP time and leading the PK ("plus minus is a broken stat" GO (frank) YOURSELF it's still impressive)
-Nikita. (frank)ing. Kucherov. breaking how many records!!!
-100 Points before March
-62 wins in the salary cap era

What an AMAZING season of hockey! I'll worry about the playoffs on Wednesday. Until then, I'm soaking this up!!! (…….Bolts in 6)

Post deadline Tampa was playing their season out already secured of the playoffs. Columbus had been playing all out to make the playoffs. I think this also plays into the post deadline numbers you have posted.

Columbus can give Tampa issues but I see the Lightning winning the series.

If the Lightning lose this playoffs to me it will be because it was self inflicted and they beat themselves.

I love the first round of the playoffs. So many good series with hockey to watch every night. Hedman is going to be back for the first game right?

Hedman is practicing in regular jersey on top line and with top power play this morning so I think he is good to go for Wednesday game.

Stralman and Callahan are the only two not on the ice. All of the call ups are still with the team for now. Looks like Rutta might play based on the line configurations or they might have him just in Stralman's spot for today while Stralman is not on the ice.

I wonder where Sergachev will play. Hoping that Cooper keeps him with Hedman.

Boy that Seth Jones looks great. Would have looked good had somebody drafted him rather than Drouin. And no, Sergachev is absolutely not in Seth Jones league.

Not sure anyone would try to compare Sergachev to Jones at this point. Jones is one of the best D in the league.

Umm oops can’t stop playing after the 1st 20 minutes.
At least you have that I haven’t witnessed a good start to a hockey game in a long time lol.
I would hate to see the Fonz get his team past this round.
