There isn't a lot of playoff experience on the team. It's hard to know what to expect.

Again Ben, nice job pointing out past performances of the current Islander team.

I think with Trotz behind the bench we should wipe the slate on all the players clean and see how they do with real direction and structure.

Let’s Go Islanders !

This right here is one of many reasons why it would be awesome if we won this series;

“It would be a letdown(of the Penguins lose) not just for Penguins fans, but for fans of hockey in general.“

Funny, I think most Islander fans disagree with this ya (frank)ing douche😂

. Between two periods in San Jose in 2009-10 and 11 games with the Islanders in 2015-16, Greiss has a .923 save percentage, much higher than his career regular season total of .923

Ummm... that's the same number .

What a total bumhole. If this guy thinks anyone outside of Pittsburgh would be happy that they won he knows absolutely nothing about hockey.

Bingo. Only Pens fans like the Penguins. Well I should say Pens fans and Kasperrko 😂

I think It’s pretty telling when you have Ranger fans cheering for the islanders in this series😂

"To be fair, Trotz’s concern is how many games his team can win, not whether hockey’s growth is accelerating."

Do ya fuckin think so? Crap weasel. Of course he's focused on winning games. No coach in the league coaches with growing the game in mind. They coach based on the talent they have and winning games. And if the Pens are so much better, why do the Isles have home ice? I know, I know, the Pens have a lot more talent and they can somehow flip the switch in the playoffs. I, for one think they Isles can beat the Pens. As long as they play their game.

Damn, I don't fault the Athletic staff one bit for not giving the Isles a ghost of a chance in round one, or even for not considering them at all on the list of possible darkhorse teams. I get all that. But to have them fourth on "most overrated" is a bit much! How could "too bad to even appear on any of our ratings" be overrated?

https://theathletic.com/9...-cup-playoff-predictions/

Anyway, here's to a fun, loud, and hopefully successful opening to the Isles' playoffs run tonight

I don't care where anyone rates them or how much "respect" they get from anyone. What pissed me off about the Athletic was how (frank)ing lazy Craig Custance was when he got to the Islanders-portion of his preview:

I'm paying money so that lazy piece of poop can write two measly sentences with one thought that a 6 year old that watched the NHL this season could have slapped together in 50 seconds

Well, he was going to write three sentences, but two is all you get for the discounted subscription rate.
