So, someone asks an undrafted, amateur hockey player about his dad's job status. That's just weird.

Way to take the high road, failing to mask the desperation coming from trying to hire a head coach. It's easy to criticize the Kings for having bad habits and getting their coach fired but the right coach could right the ship. Look to when Sutter got them to win the Cup coming in half way or so through that very season. See the sad thing is the Sabres have all this youth and talent and it got you to finish what 3 points ahead of LA when the Kings for the first time in awhile introduced a lot of rookies to their lineup in part suffering for it. With the proper combo of youth and vet leadership a team can go far and the one thing LA has is an older core who has known how to win in the past, I'm not sure the Sabres have anyone close to that in their lineup. So with youth coming for us and youth being prominent in your lineup, I'd dare say the Kings would return to prominence before the Sabres become relevant. But why throw shade, you guys failed to lockdown a future # 1 goalie who chose to sign with us for apparently reasons not explained in this blog (some of the best coaching leadership in the league). Happy Hunting and good luck on getting McLellan. You'll need a lot more than that to be relevant

I don't even know why I look at GARP's crap. There is NO WAY he goes to Buffalo. In the simplest of terms, 1. (Read the above quote, it's spot on) 2. Buffalo, the organization is a $hithole-it HAS to have the reputation in NHL circles as the Boulevard of Broken Dreams, where players and coaches land to woefully underachieve ("Sabre Cancer"....from Stanley Cup Winning coach Scotty Bowman to latest remission beater Ryan O'Reilly, to current roster/patients) 3. Buffalo, the region is a $hithole-who wants astronomical taxes taken out their contracts, to uproot your family to a mediocre-at-best city with 8 months of winter ..it's one additional part of why Skinner will jet.

They will be left with the Swede, cycle, rinse, repeat. It's easier at this point as a former fan to follow the sport of Hockey rather than support five decades of losing with no clear end in sight. It's also comic gold to watch GARP play 13 yr old GM with the moronic trade proposals and personnel changes that he proposes with the WAY OVERVALUED roster that yields a treasure-trove of assets with every trade. News flash...you NEVER get it right...just like the Sabres. They must pay you.

Garth, I would rather bring back Lindy Ruff than go for another few years with McClellan doing his magic like he did in Edmonton (destroyed the team). Even Lindy got the Sabres to the Stanley Cup finals and McClellan did not with a much more talented team in San Jose. If Jason Botts hires McClellan then he will be fired with him in less than two year.

My friend Elliotte Friedman

no seriously because you stalk him on twitter as a source doesn't mean you are friends!

Damn but some utter brutal spelling making this literal verbal vomit... from nothing to just farcical opinion. There is just NO in between at all.

I don't understand why anyone wants this guy. He had average playoff success with a great Sharks team. Easily a top 5 team talent wise while he was coaching them. Then more failure with the Oilers.

The Sabres have the same issues as the Oilers, right down to owners that like to be involved. If he couldn't fix the oilers, what makes anything he'll fix the Sabres.
