Finals against Edmonton they won first 2 on road , leading to sweep. Don't remember 2-0 at home. Don't remember being up 2-0 any other time in any round. Well thinking about it they may have been up 2-0 on Rags but not first round that year. First round back then youngsters was best of 5. This was 1983

I think I found the answer. 1982 1st round. Islanders vs. Penguins. Isles won the Patrick Division Division, so they had home ice. Best of 5 series in those days. Isles won the first two games at the Nassau Coliseum. (Pens came back to win the next 2 at home, then led 3 - 1 going into the 3rd period. Isles scored 2 in the 3rd to tie it, then John Tonelli had the game winner in OT.)

They likely were.
For a long time yahoo kept the boards accessible though posting was disabled. We had a small group of really good participants. I was always surprised that more people didn't find their way to HB. Most were well aware of the site

It's not looking good for them but you cannot count them out yet. Regarding the Isles, I love how Nelson, Bailey, Eberle, and Beau are playing with passion. The talent has always been there but they are now playing with real emotion.
