Already determined that one, agree or not. I meant league will deal with it re: Kadri.

End of the day the league has a real problem to deal with in the crap reffing across the league not just in this series but yeah.

Saying the league will deal with it was referring to Kadri being stupid with the cross check. Nothing we as fans can really do about it.

As is, love to see Shanny go in there and back our player some BUT, I am more dissapointed to see our coach not do so. Cassidy backed his players, Babs shrugs and meh's and does nothing. Torts would have walked in with a cheque in hand to give over and lit the refs and league's ass on fire!!

Now as a player tell me which coach would you go to battle for and give your all for? The guy who believes in you and speaks up for you, right or wrong doesn't matter, or the guy who shrugs and meh's and says not a damn thing?!

agreed on Babcock.

in my opinion he should have taken the opportunity to critique the officiating and call out some of his own "no shows"...

crap like this... not being supportive of your players give license to the donkeys in the media, particularly the Toronto "let's hate on the Leafs morons" and you know what they are all going to say, taking the so-called high road "Kadri is dumb blah blah blah"...

well.. he absorbed a good few cheap shots, and he hit back.... and like always in the NHL, the get the wrong guy.

same thing happens with Ovi in the Caps game... dangerous hit, NHL officials like the 'undercarriage' to make the correct call and call someone else.

it is high time for Maple Leaf's leadership to have a sit down with Jerry Buttman and explain to him that they may need to find ways to withhold some of their financial contributions to the league, legally of course, you know, sudden loss of monies, unforeseen revenue issues, tax write offs, that type of thing.

or simply tell him that the officiating is crap - which it is.

I think George Parros is in over his head and really franked this up by not suspending DeBrusk and the league franked up by not holding the refs accountable.
- PatC80

I don't disagree there is NO consistency at all in how things are looked at and decided there so.... I think it almost at this point needs to be a 3rd party with not being a player or league suit. And the focus on protecting the players, not repping the culprit all the time to minimize their penalization.

I think easy way on this one for the league would have been to go 2 and 2 for DeBrusk and Kadri though Kadri as a repeat offender likely needs more. Could say 2 for DeBrusk and 5 for Kadri.

Yawn.

I guess that is my cue to get out of here. Seems to be true what they say about this place.

There are good posters in here I’m just going to point out the obvious and state emotions are still high from last night....plus ripped trolling wouldn’t make it easy for a Sabres fan asking any questions let alone spark that debate

Matthews has made Brown, Johnsson, and Kapanen into 20 goal scorers.

Second in the league in goals as a rookie playing with other rookies (Hyman, Brown, Nylander). PPG player in his second season. Another PPG season this year.

Marner had the benefit of playing with someone arguably better than he is this season in Tavares. When has Matthews ever played with someone on Tavares’ level? When Nylander is on his game he’s a beast, but lacks the consistency of Tavares.

I’ll take the big, PPG centre (with 111 goals in 212 games) over the flashy winger.

Wow, you wonder why no one likes Leaf fans. A simple question, yet nothing but smart a$$ remarks.
- Mentalorgasm5

so... you know when Buffalo lost a playoff series or something when some guy had his foot in the crease and scored...

its just me... but I probably wouldn't wander aimlessly into a bar after a game like and expect the fans to be friendly...

but that's just me

Think it just needs to be done across the board if the coachs all start ripping the officiating it makes an impact.... I mean pretty funny watching all the games and the commentators are ALL slagging the refs right now on blatant missed calls.

I am seriously wondering about Babs at this point. All the issues earlier on and all of that and to be that milktoast in response after all that?!

Wait and see but Kadri is done here so time to focus on shifting Nylander to center and what we do with the lines and how we are going to play Monday here and our response to how we approach and play the game.

And even a lot of the good posters, well we do tend to poke fun and be smartasses a lot too, not to be malicious but can come across wrong. Blame the medium here too.... but yeah just a bad timing thing honestly. Mid summer someone asked that, meh would just be a talking point and something to banter on really.

there's no doubt a consistency problem with the league office and suspensions, has been for a long time.

that is absolutely not my issue.

my issue is out and out crap gutless officiating.

if its a hook in November , January or March... its a hock in April and June.

if its a cross-check - other than Chara who gets 30 freebees a game on average - its a cross check... just call the crap starting in the first period... and you don't have what happened last night happening.

that one is on the officials - start to finish.... letting them off the hook is weak.

we have heard players ask for one thing 1000s of times ... consistency.

when it isn't there - you get a poop show

Yeah though in fairness the league has always dropped the ball in that regards. One rulebook for regular season, one for playoffs, even when the officiating was far from perfect but far better than it is now.

Need to just call it consistently start to finish period. Players will adjust and by end of season penalties called will drop. Just be consistent on things, I agree.

I know I'm picking at terminology a bit here...

but I'm going to argue with the "one for regular season" .. "one for playoffs" schtick.

we've all heard that a million times - and there's no actual defense for it.

but what I'm talking about is specifically the difference between game 1 and game 2 officiating.

that was beautifully consistent

Kadri's fabricated roughing penalty that offset DeBrusks was one of the craziest invisible penalties I've ever seen. Like mind-(frank)ing-blowingly bad.

The non-call on duhB1tch’s elbow to Dermott, the non-call on duhB1tch’s kneeing on Kadri...

I hope duhB1tch is out for the playoffs.

The elbow was bad. Reminded me of the Game 7 elbow on JVR.

I know it doesn't sound like it, but I promise I'm over last night. I really am.
Kadri is gonna get suspended for probably 3 games too many and I've made peace with that. The refs (frank)ed the dog and I made peace with that. Dubrusk's headshot sucked but it is what it is. A lot of calls and missed calls really sucked, but it is what it is.
But man, that roughing penalty on Kadri will get me for a long time. Kadri got 2 minutes for being Kadri.
