I'd love to see him pull 6 x 6 for Provy but he is our best dman. After this past season, I hope his asking price comes down. He is definitely not in the Doughty, Subban, etc. class. Based on what I've seen of him, I'd be okay with $7-$8mil for 8 years. Should prove to be a bargain. I'm thinking, if anything, he goes with a bridge deal to get a bigger payday in 2-3 years. - cdearth23
If he is worth 8 mil, what would he be worth if he actually had a good season this past year?
Nothing personal but I think Flyers fans on this board consistently over value players whether it be contracts trades whatever. If you look at what other good young D men sign for in recent years 8 makes no sense. I don’t see him getting more than 6. |

His whole 3 years will be taken into account. I’m thinking between 6.25-6.75 long term |

I'm fine with 6 years but if he bounces back like we think he will, he is a top dman. If he had another strong year this season he gets closer to Norris consideration. Once he is there, he bumps up. If we can lock him in at 8 x 8 and he continues his strong play, that is a win. Doughty is close to $11 and Subban is high AVV too. If Provy gets into annual Norris consideration then it is a good deal. Lots of variables though.
Based on what I hear about Provys desire, work ethic, etc I'm expecting him to be better next year. I'm okay with 8 x 8 or anything less just a bonus. |

I understand but you have to think that his side is going to use his ice time and usage as their chip. He is our most valuable dman right now. All situations top ice time. Even with a down year, they are going to try for longer term and higher avv. I honestly believe we see him go with bridge deal if we stick at 6 x 6. |

If the Pens and Bolts get swept then Flyers be damned, this season was a success. |

He had a strange year. I don’t know what to make of it. He’s prob never going to be your lead offensive dman. I think it broke just right for the flyers to lock in a solid defender long term on a real reasonable deal |

Fitting that BOB will get his first series win where he barely had to do anything. CLB has completely controlled the every period since midway through the second period of game 1 |

I think if we can sign TK for "around" $6mil, Sanheim around $6, and Provy for around $8 we win those deals. Of course it would be nice to get them on long term deals but I think Provy settles for bridge after down year.
Should be interesting. - cdearth23
Those deals are all losses. None of the 3 players are worth that.

You're drastically over selling. Provorov is a really good young defenseman but he is no where close to Norris trophy level. You're out of your mind if you think Provorov can get 8 X 8.
