Replace G with Stamkos and our team is not better, Stamkos is second or third fiddle, G is top dog. Stamkos might be the fourth best guy on his team.

Not thrilled with him, but based on his resume I'd take him over Gordon.

That half ass Hextall rebuild while staying "competitive" is working wonders.

Stay the course. Thank god Holmgren and Clarke are still involved to guide this team year after year.

And I would also point out to those saying Patrick is going to be this or that, Many in here said Coots would never be more than a 3C, (and some still do).

Personally I am going to cut the 20 year old some slack. Talk to me again in 2 years when he is 22, 23 years old and them Ill have a much better read on who he will ultimately be as an NHL player.

- MBFlyerfan

Next season is huge for him. He's gonna have to somehow do more w/ less ice time and offensive opportunity (assumed he loses his 2C spot).

giroux is not on the level of Stamoks, Kuch, Ovechkin, Crosby, McDavid, Kane, Gaudreau... hell he doesn't even play as tough as Marchand
- 2Real

Giroux is a 100 point producer. You’re insane.

Couturier never had to be a number one center with Giroux here. Couturier was never expected to be the guy, Patrick is.

100 points in more than 60 goals. In fact Stamkos’ career high in a season is 98.

Why is this an excuse? it's a fact. Giroux is better because he puts up more points (past 3-4 years) and is on a much lesser team.

Semi correct. They've been in the top half of attendance only since 2013. And they only the past few years have averaged Dell outs.

How do you rank Stamkos, Pavelski and Giroux?

All C/W hybrids and captains.

We are not really discussing whether Giroux is better then Stamkos are we? I'm sorry, I can put the orange and black glasses on as much as the next guy, but its not even close. Well it is kinda close if you look at it like, Stamkos is just a little bit better at everything, which makes it not close.... He really isn't a lot better at anything, except goal scoring, but add it all up....

Giroux has a .93 points per game. Stamkos has 1.03. Over an 82 game season thats an average of 10 more points a year. And as many people pointed out, this is with him not always being the focal point of the team.

In my opinion, the retaliation was justified, because just prior to that, Debrusk had driven Marleau I believe into the stanchion. That series has been a physical one. I hope Toronto wins. I hate Boston with a passion.

Patrick is 20 and has had some surgeries and then a couple concussions. Just because he got injured doesnt mean he lost that skill. He probably is a little hesitant to go to those dirty areas because of his concussions and I can't dislike the future for that. He will eventually start getting to those dirty areas and his confidence will grow and he will blossom. I have no doubt about Patrick at all.

You said it perfect....the some people said this same stuff about coots because he wasnt an instant all star. I love my city but philly fans have the most unrealistic expectations for our players

Ok...that maybe a bit of a stretch....you make it sound like the best place in the country.

You missing a few of the negatives...like the avg temp is 100... in the shade😰 For most of the summer.

Property taxes are high but not crazy, the influx of folks from California does not stop, causing growth rates the are the highest in the country.

Flyers need to watched on centre ice and being forced to listen to other team announcers....like jack edwards(homer of homers) it is no fun.

I have been here almost 20 years and would not move back to the philly area because of the people.....most of them are nicer...not to offend anyone on this board but on avg the people are friendlier.
