I think Botterill is going to have to settle for his AHL coach. Nobody worth a damn wants the job because they know there is a good chance Botterill will be fired when the Sabres miss the playoffs again next season.

Every one was happy but after recycling coaches after coaches maybe he wasn’t the problem and the time away helped him reshape his game

I get that everyone is fed up with this organization or the owners or the players or the gm or the price of beer or all of the above, but I (frank)ING HATE people that kick someone while they're down, and that includes spreading bullish!t rumors, making assumptions, jumping to conclusions, etc.

They haven't hired anyone: "it's been a week. No one wants the job"

They hire someone tomorrow: "they rushed it. Why wouldn't they take their time?"

Coaches don't get fired for winning the Stanley Cup (yes, yes, Trotz became a FA after he won).

Fans want coaches to win, and when they don't, coaches get fired, and fans hate said coaches. If the Sabres objective is to hire an experienced coach, then it's going to be a person who has been fired. Coaches who get fired are hated by fans.
