If Justin runs out of thoughts for future blogs, you and Doh just gave him plenty of ideas. Good work by both of you.

Thanks to you and Doh. I'm sure there are more factors. Regardless, they do point to an exciting summer ahead as fans and plenty of blog fodder for us to discuss during the dog days of July (after the free agency frenzy dies down) and August.

Don't you know the rule, all of Stan's picks are busts.

They really need to add compensation picks for any prospect that fails to sign with the team that drafted him. It's pretty BS how the Hawks are going to lose out on another player....
- RedRevenge

I think if both sides opt out this year out of the cba this topic hopefully will be discussed. I think that's a good idea if a player is drafted in the 1st round and doesn't sign with club that drafted said player then compensation should be a 1st and going forward. So we will see what happens. Agree if a player is drafted a team then that player should play for that team for at least 1 to 2 years IMO.

Hey, Chief, what about the rest of the report? How was Boqvist?
- mohel

Would you put Boqvist in London or Rockford next season?
- mohel

London, summer strength coach, more work on his working asa defender in his end, then Rockford.

Karlsson is so overratted it's not funny. He can't play defense to save his life, he commands a 1st pairing salary and can only play situationally. If Stan isn't watching he runs the risk of Boqvist being exactly the same.
- paulr

The game has changed to modify and allows a Karlsson to roam. The idea is (just like bowen bryam) that they create, control a high pace attack, and the trade off is supposed to covered inside the structures of the new man defenses.

Boqvist IS a scorer, and no matter where he ends up, he will ahve high point totals.

Good summary. I would also add:

Gustafsson (could stay/could go)
Long-term health of Crawford
Assistant coach(es) hired by Colliton
New head coaches for the Hogs and Fuel
Does Mitchell sign or stay another year in the NCAA (nevermind, saw the other posts)
Same with Barratt (can't remember if he officially made a decision yet)
If/when Kubalik signs, what exactly can he contribute

- AEL_Fox

Beaudin is another prospect to keep an eye on whether he goes pro or stays another year in juniors. He at least has an ELC inked.

Other prospects who are on the radar but without ELCs are Soderlund and possibly Gravel.

Galvas just signed with another European league going from the Czech Republic to Finland, IIRC.

Mitchell is returning to DU next season. He's another step closer to pulling a Hayes, not that there was any doubt he would.
- DarthKane

He needs to be a whole lot stronger and a better defender.

Yes. Please. Pisses me off. Ought to be SOME protection of draft choice. The Entry Draft is based upon fair distribution of draft choices and no rich teams or another desirable team to sign with should be afforded. It upends the fairness process.

The weighted lottery system is debatable to my thinking anyway but this possibikity if loosing Mitchell is just too much. Horsecrap on both NHL and players who break away.

i had the cup going to the winner of the bolts/bruins should they escape the first round...

oooppss...never saw a cbj sweep coming...they out everythinged the bolts; big bolt goalie had his problems but bobro was outstanding; the cbj pp and net screens were terrific

can the bruins escape the leafs...if the bruins can win g4...i think they will take it..

Good summary. I would also add:

Gustafsson (could stay/could go) - I would be surprised if he is deal. But....
Long-term health of Crawford - I am not sure this is a decision. They have to hope he plays 55 games at a high level.
Assistant coach(es) hired by Colliton (I was going to add that)
New head coaches for the Hogs and Fuel (good possibility and good idea.)
Does Mitchell sign or stay another year in the NCAA (nevermind, saw the other posts)
Same with Barratt (can't remember if he officially made a decision yet) If he signs he probably starts at the Rock.
If/when Kubalik signs, what exactly can he contribute They sound confident that he will sign

Perhaps in the minority but I'm more excited about Beaudin than Boqvist

There are trade targets in there, so I'm sure there will be some "healthy" debate around this blog.
