Thank you - your involvement is appreciated. The extraordinarily immature and over-the-top insults from one or two people are a big reason few want to post on Paul's thread anymore. Many have simply abandoned the thread. Most here know that any response to provocative trolling is just what the perpetrators want so no one posts. They just leave HB.

Let's get one thing straight....Paul's blogs have NEVER had what I would call a following...it's embarrassing the lack of responses his silly blogs receive! By his twisted logic, the Preds didn't really have anything to do with the win last night....It was purely the crowd because as he says...."brought it"! Paul will tell you it's not the product on the ice that wins games, but all of the other nonsensical minor league hockey production gimmicks that wins games! "Cup starved fans".....I don't think so.....See Toronto Maple Leafs.

Think I'll pass on your "Let's get one thing straight" directive. What does that mean anyway? Do you have special gifts?

Every team and their fans are cup-starved the year they don't win it. Surely you can see that.

Then again, maybe not.

One other observation is that most blogs of all kinds, sports or otherwise, are about what the blogger writes, not anonymous comments from random posters with partisan axes to grind. What's the point of that? One reads a particular blog because one wants to see what the writer has to say, not to get into a tit for tat battle with someone holding a grudge. No one cares about what you or I have to say so why not just stick to your own blog and stay out of one that is apparently so very irritating to you? Why do you bother reading Paul's blogs if his writing is so repulsive to you? That's the definition of masochism.

Forsberg did. I'd be ok with letting Ellis go, he hasn't impressed me lately.

Good win. I feel like we stole one, got home ice back, so I hope they decide to keep it this time.

Huge game for Rinne and the definition of a stolen game from your goaltender.

Stars were (and are) smothering - they have given no room whatsoever this series and it was about as tight as it could be last night. They are everywhere and all over every Pred when we are trying gain possession or move the puck. The Stars had 89 shot attempts and looked unstoppable - they wanted the game.

Not a great game from the Preds but big credit to them as they found a way to get it done which is what good teams must do to advance. Preds blocked 28 shots, a season high, and they needed every one of them along with Rinne's acrobatic saves to win. Preds stole a game, no doubt. Game 4 will be more of the same.

You will see one big name D man go. You have one at 9 M for 3 years. Ellis at over 6 for mucho years and 59 with a new contract year coming soon. You have a youngster whom is proving he is very capable and two dependable players sitting out right now with great cap salaries. So who goes ?

I'd say Ellis and PK are expendable. Josi has proven his worth, Ekholm has been solid. Fabbro could be great.

It was also one of those weird games where every time the puck bounced off the boards, someones pads, or anything else, it seemed to roll right to a green jersey every time. Those types of games can be nerve-wracking to watch when you're on the wrong end of seemingly all the bounces. You had to fully expect the Stars best effort after getting pretty much dominated on Saturday everywhere but the scoreboard. Kudos to their crow for showing up too, they were hot last night.

I have a lot of respect for this Stars teams aside from one little weasel skating around, but I did notice quite a few green jerseys who suddenly couldn't stay on their on skates as the third period wound down. I can give the benefit of the doubt if it were just a couple but four of five times? I dunno... Kudos to the refs for not buying into any of that crap.

I hope you prove right on this, but Poile has to get over his massive man crush on these defenders before there's any hope of him letting one of them go. That's one good thing that could possibly come out of it, if the Preds lose in the first round, it might force David to reevaluate what this team really needs to be successful. Ellis would probably be the easier player of the two to move. 6.25 mil isn't a horrible cap hit for a 1 or 2 caliber d-man, and I doubt one bad season is going to completely kills his value on the trade market. It only takes one team to be interested... Maybe Poile can Jedi mind trick Fenton into taking him off our hands too? Turris needs to go too, but there's no way that's happening this off season at least. That guy might as well be labeled nuclear fallout at this point. They're stuck with him until he proves he can still be of some value to somebody.

Best thing Preds can hope for is that Turris has a strong postseason. I'm not sold that this team can get past the 2nd round (still isn't out of the first!!).

That said, if Turris has a 10-12 point postseason, he becomes much more desirable on the market. And if he jibes with Smith/Granlund, then maybe you hang on to him. He's been WAY better in the last 3 games than he was in the previous 20. We shall see.

I've said for some time that the best player to move on the D side is PK. His $9M cap hit isn't as off-putting as it was a couple years ago. And he's a big name that lots of GM's would love to bring in to energize their rosters. But to free up that Cap Space to sign Josi and perhaps bring in another forward, would be great. There are some pretty solid UFA's out there - of course Panarin and maybe Duchene if Columbus doesn't re-sign them. But you also have some great young forwards like Lee and Nelson from the Islanders that might be willing to move to Nashville if it has the cap space.

Turris will have to have one heck of a postseason to shake off the stink of this year. (Hope he does, that can only mean good things for the Preds in the PS) I'm afraid we'll be stuck with him for at least one more season, a show me type of season to prove he's worth what he's being paid. From what I've read, he's not well viewed around the league right now. You might be overestimating the league's interest in Subban but like I said, it only takes one team to be interested. I have my doubts Poile would even want to trade P.K. though, he seems enamored with the guy for whatever reason. I definetely see him going after Duchene, Poile clearly covets him, but he's going to have to part with one of his D-men to afford him. I'd prefer it be Subban too, but I just don't see it with his contract, unless some money was also coming the Preds way... If that's in the form of one the top 6 forwards this team needs, then maybe that's not so bad.
