This is the stuff that worries me. "Their game" is not one that can beat a trap. You either adapt or you die and I don't believe the Pens, or at least Sully believes they need to adapt.

Yup. They can't get through that NZ without dumping and chasing, and by the time the get the puck, the Isles have had time to position themselves to forecheck and counter.

Stop trying to get through the NZ. Trap the Trappers, then counter.

He's so terrible it defies description. I'm not going to pin this series on him at all, but dressing him over Maatta does not set the Pens up for success.

I think we have all read the corsi for % and have heard the trite "outlet pass" value of anyone who isn't Jack Johnson. But can't we also just barely open our eyes to see that JJ is an absolute tire fire out there? Why should Maatta not draw into the line up?

Hopefully pens squeak one out tonight, Islanders lose there poop for a game-game 5 the star power comes alive-game 6, Pens win shortly into overtime -game 7. It’s not impossible.

The idea that it’s impossible for Crosby to be Crosby and Malkin to be Malkin with this Defense is ridiculous. This blog is just adding oxygen to the Jack Johnson dumpster fire, which is the most important thing in this bloggers life. It’s more important for stats to win than the Penguins to him. Pens still have 5 capable NHL Defensman playing. Forwards need to find their balls a bit and come back a little deeper and play 200 feet. Too much cheating going on out there.
