Welcome to Philly I do like the sound of some structure and (new) ideas in breakouts, positioning and the transition game - This team is way too talented and has been for a few years to not have a playoff round win this long - Although some fans seem nervous just check the amount of playoff games and wins, getting teams to overachieve - Don't think both Vancouver or his Rangers squad had any more talent to work with than he's got here in Philly.

Oddly enough, one of his assistants will be former Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol.

Brooksie's column in yesterday in the New York Post.....never change Brooksie...Columbus keeps on winning....Torts will be able to yell at you again!

Finally, Alain Vigneault, who will be behind the Team Canada bench for the World Championships, is a good coach who certainly merits another crack at it. The Flyers, who have received permission from the Rangers to talk to Vigneault, are serious about it. But there will be no greater evidence of the evolution of our society if “Whistle to Whistle” hockey comes to Philly.

AV is definitely gonna piss off the “Flyers are soft” part of the fanbase. He tells his players to take the facewashes in hopes of drawing a penalty.

Help me out Team Negative...

What are the reasons why this is just another poor choice by the FLyers?

He's just been named coach and the Flyers are already worse and the team has burned to the ground.

It's amazing the negativity on here.

Multiple players have been interviewed since that SCF, they all said that they were told to turn the other cheek in between whistles and try to draw penalties.

Gonna be interesting to see how that plays with Giroux, who’s probably not as cool with that mentality as Henrik Sedin was.

The series he lost with Rangers he faced a hall of fame goalie (Quick) lol. And Tim Thomas played out of his mind while Luongo choked.

I'm not feeling the negativity. TBH, I'm actually looking forward to next season now. At least we will have a structured team, instead of whatever the hell we've had the last seven seasons. If we get into the playoffs, everyone will be saying we did the right thing. Give the guy a chance.

He places too much faith in the goalie and as you noted it can burn you badly
