Nothing good is going to come from being critical of the A.V. choice as head coach. In fairness, no one can say with certainty how it will work out. Also, if I am willing to listen to my own advice, I cannot judge Fletcher based on a single decision but rather on all the decisions including acquisitions this summer. We’ll have to wait and see how it all turns out.

I see no reason for anyone to feel the need to be critical of Gordon right now. He is a smart guy, maybe he stays with the organization. He didn’t get the job. I’m disappointed too, but Gordon will land on his feet.

I have no idea why anyone would want to remain with the uncertainty and limited success that is Scott Gordon over a track record of success. Berube, Hakstol and Gordon are all the same Scenario.

Your opinion. Uncertainty is simply different now. You believe what you want. I read some remarkable fears today along with some seriously orange sunny forecasts of what the Flyers future looks like under Vingeault. Coming from a place of wanting success for Fletcher and the Flyers, I have little to say on this.

On a happy note, the Flyers and Penguins tied for playoff games won this season.

“Certainly that track record of winning games is critical but I also think he has a tremendous track record of developing players, holding his players accountable, instilling proper habits in his players,” Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher said. “I think he’s one of the better bench coaches in the National Hockey League, the ability to adapt and read the game and make changes as he sees fit is top notch. He’s obviously a hard worker. In my time with him over the last few days I found out he’s also a really good person and someone I communicated with well. Personally, I’m really looking forward to the opportunity of working with him.”

“I just look at his track record,” Fletcher said. “You even go to Vancouver when he came in there and all the younger players they had and he turned that franchise around quickly and they had a slew of young players, if I’m not mistaken guys like (Alex) Edler and (Ryan) Kesler, (Jannik) Hansen, (Alexandre) Burrows, all those were young players and some of them he had coached in Manitoba. He had a tremendous track record in Manitoba. They had a tremendous track record there and that Vancouver group really developed and jelled into a top team for many years. I think his track record speaks for himself.”

Blah blah track record. Blah blah, blah blah track record. His track record blah blah blah blah blah blah blah track record.

Seems like fletcher stewed over this hire

Pens and Tampa out and sharks on the brink ... a dream scenario for the Flyers.

There will be plenty of trade partners for a team with the talent pool of the Flyers. No excuse to not improve the team.

Only one team wins the cup, the rest just lose and will make changes.

Meanwhile

Ratcliffes value on the rise
Frost on the rise
Farabee on the rise

I want trades but I honestly don’t want to give up these three.

To get you will have to give.

unless you're getting a bonafide young star player for a combination of one of these three+ other assets. i wouldn't be looking to move them at all. Ratcliffe is arguably the most expendable of the three but i still like him a lot.

Completely agree and after what Ratcliffe did I’m game 7, his confidence should be sky high.

Packaging laczynski and Allison’s rights for Marcus Kruger sounds about right

I was worried about Allison last year when he didn't sign. Laczynski also to a lesser extent. Now both are back for senior Yeats and the chance we see them as Flyers is slim. Why sign at this point? Wait until August and you get to pick your team. ELCs are the same, so you can't throw money at them.
On a different note, the Farabee signing was a surprise. Wouldn't mind Cates in LHV either.
I just don't like the NCAA and NHL rules for college players.

NBC is scrambling now to replace all that Crosby centered footage and content they had planned for the duration of the playoffs. Pierre in shambles.

Yeah...no need for the knee pads the rest of the playoffs but they have to find new heros from other markets. And the TBL out too.
Of course the fix for Vegas is in and has been since Bettman slobbered over that city.

Lacysnksi has a June 1st birthday. It’s possible he’s waiting until then because if he signs at 22 years old which he’ll turn.....it will be a 2 year entry contract per the CBA. If he signs now before June 1. It is a 3 year entry. He may be looking to get to his next deal a year quicker. Which is smart

Allison does not turn 22 until October

I thought I read that they both had decided to go back for their senior Years. Would be nice for both to wind up in LHV this year.
Still nervous about all the kids we have in college programs.

We have future 1sts, O'Brien, two good goalie prospects that we honestly probably can stand to trade. If you add a Ghost or Voracek on top of that as some people think they could be dealt then you have plenty of good assets to work with.
