Sooo....why did Tampa Bay have an absurdly good record using members of the "old guard?" Why didn't Columbus have a better record than them with all of their young guns? |

Plus Duchene and Panarin are the leading scorers on CBJ.
EK! Take two seconds at least to think about what you're putting down. That had to be the dumbest first paragraph I've read on this site. |

Maybe the younger players don't care about the regular season? It's weird that 5 of the 8 lower seeds are winning and look way better than the regular season. And there's a decent chance 7 lower seeds could advance which would be insane. And most of these lower seeds have a significant grouping of "new" younger players. |

CBJ. Foligno leads the charge against TBL in game one. Duchene has stepped up and Panarin producing as he should. Werenski is the only young guy that fits EK's theory.
VEG. Stone is leading ffs, then Stastny and Pacioretty! This is not a super young team! They are thriving off a well built experienced group of players.
COL. Mackinnon is beating the Flames on his own.
TOR. Tavares addition is paying off big time.
NYI. Veteran guys are running the show. Eberle, Lee, Nelson.
This was such a ridiculous, uninformed blog. Do you even know what teams are in the playoffs right now? Are you paying any attention whatsoever?? - mgriffen
Isles young players on D are getting it done, Pelech, Pulock and Toews are doing fantastic jobs. Barzal and Beauvillier have stepped it up.
Overall the blog is useless, every team has young players mixed in with vets! |

Carolina has 3 players aged 30 or older.
One IS 30, one is 37, and the other is the back up goalie. |

Yeah not trying to say that there are no young guys doing well, but yeah...come on now EK. Just tunnel vision nonsense. Marner is playing incredibly well, but if Tavares wasn't there to win a faceoff against Bergeron then he wouldn't have the puck as much. |

Bwahaha. I can't stop laughing at the absurdity of this article. Let's look at Tampa:
Vasilevsky - age 24
Point - 23
Kucherov - 25
Sergachev - 20
Cernak - 21
Cirelli - 21
Joseph - 22
So those are some pretty key players. Starting goalie. Two top line forwards. Two top 4 d-men. Several other depth forwards.
Losing to Columbus that are currently being driven by:
Duchene - 28
Panarin - 27
Atkinson - 29
Werenski - 21 (so that's 1)
Jones - 24 (so that's 2 young guys driving the bus)
Savard has been a horse - age 28
Foligno the emotional leader - age 31
Bobrovsky the stud in net - age 30
Honestly. Do you even know any of these players?
And then you mention NYI. Hmm, aside from 21-year old Barzal we have the leading scorer is 28-year old Eberle. Bailey and Nelson have each scored 2 key goals at age 29 and 27. Filppula and Komorov have provided leadership and scoring well into their 30's. The 4th line of Martin, Clutterbuck, and Cizikas may not have any goals but anyone watching the series would say they are making a huge impact at age 29,31, and 28. I'll give you Pulock and Pelech at 24. But then there is also Leddy and Boychuk logging tough minutes.
Trying too hard to make a story when the facts don't really support it. A better article might have been how some of the best offenses during the regular season are struggling to score in the playoffs...Tampa (1), Calgary (2), Pittsburgh (6). |

You do at least acknowledge that in the two series, the bigger suprise is that CBJ is up 3-0, and not that the #2 seeded Islanders...right? |

How about its a very different set of rules in the playoff...that's probably were we need more digging... not the age of the players...
Tor/Bos series is plain retarded (well the first 2 games at least and I hate both team, so I'm not bias) remove the refs from the game at that point, wont change much |
