I don't see room for Mueller since the left side is locked up I think next year with Butcher, Smith and Green. Unless they want to keep him around after what may likely be Green's last year. But then you have Jeremy Davies waiting in the wings. Probably best to move on from him. |

I pretty much agree with all, but I still want Mueller around as a 6th/7th. Now if we get EK65, that changes alot on the backend.
I think this offseason is gonna be big for NJ. Starting with hughes and either trades of FA. I think this year Shero opens the wallet. |

I’d keep Mueller and see if we can massage him or someone into a trade-able asset.
He’s too good to let walk even if he’s not long term plans. Plus with Smith or Jefferies, you want some insurance since they have zero nhl experience. |

Hey Todd... great write up. Can you also touch on pending FAs, RFAs, etc. that would make good fits for the Devils to chase after? |

It's a shame Noesen took such a huge step back last year and looks like he will surely not be here next year...in 2017-18 season it really looked like he was a long term keeper! |

There was a lot of hype around Nolan Foote some time ago and it looks as though he'll be available for our 2nd round pick.
6'3, 190 LW
Any thoughts?
John Beecher is another. |

Agree with everything except Mueller. I'd rather keep and play Santoni over him if we have to. Santini still has room to develop. We know what Mueller is and its nothing special. I'm ok with moving on. Defensive depth right now: Vatanen, Severson, Greene, Butcher, Carrick, Smith, Santini/Mueller. I'd also rather see Yak over Mueller, as I feel like he never got a fair shake here and could be a serviceable guy. The 6th spot is Smith's to lose. The downside with this top 6 is wed have no bruisers, minimal size. Maybe they go for Myers. But then you're likely sitting Carrick for Smith.. Which.. I guess it is what it is. I just see Carrick as having some potential, but you can only have so many bottom-pairing dmen. |

Looks like the Devils wearing out the Lightning in 5 games last year was a factor in their 4 game sweep to the Blue Jackets...lol |

So lemme guess: there wasn't enough skill on the Lightning to succeed? |

I got a feeling Kessel or Malkin could be had for right price...Penguins would unload those contracts in a heartbeat! |

Kessel definitely Malkin probably not. Honestly I think we're better off trying to pry someone younger from Tampa even if it's a higher price. |

We can get Palat for cheap (he'll waive his clause), which would be just like Mojo, roughly same cap, position and age
Miller is actually younger and longer contract and plays any position. I'll take him. |
