I'm not going to get excited until we win that 4th game. The Leafy-ness is too strong to ignore.

Take your pick. Do you want me to mention the phantom penalties called on the Leafs in this game leading to every single Boston Bruin forgetting how to skate and falling down whenever there's a Leaf within 10 feet? Or perhaps we can talk about all the inconsistent goalie interference calls the Leafs have suffered through themselves? Or how about this...ALL OF GAME 2. Sorry Boston. No sympathy here.

Indifferent third party here: it was clearly goaltender interference. Contact to the goalie's head, even if not forceful, is going to interfere. Most rational people (non-Leaf fans) would agree that being able to see is important to goaltending. There isn't one single rational (again, looking at you Leafs fans) argument as to why that would not be interference.

Refereeing and league is a joke. But that's just part for the course. Just one of many reasons this horribly run league will always remain outside the mainstream consciousness of the US.

In any case, what is really frustrating about this otherwise great series is how wimpy game 5 was played. If no one is going to try to score at least hit something! Entertain us non-partisans! Kadri deserved the suspension but it would be so much better to see him still out there stirring sht up.

this just further illustrates how this team is not built for the playoffs 🤦‍♂️

soft as slime, sweetheart d🤦‍♂️

when the bs feel like playing they impose there will and theirs nothing these pantywaists can do about it 🤦‍♂️

should’ve changed there name from laffs to “the toronto callalillies “🤦‍♂️

dubass should’ve traded greedy soft willi and garbagener for some heavier playoff performers and some real defense men and a backup who don’t want to play house and fake injuries to get days off🤦‍♂️

what a (frank)ing joke🤦‍♂️

Given that in game 82 Ryan Poeling for the Habs skated through the crease making actual head contact with Freddie on a goal that was allowed after review, I feel that the standard is obviously set. Minor contact outside the crease clearly doesn't meet the apparent criteria for GI if that is our baseline.

Deep down we all agree and feel pretty bad about the whole thing. The Bruins really deserve better.

I think it's time for some Lucas blogs around this place. Would be nice to have somebody cover the Buds who actually seems to be happy about them winning.

Yup. I'm sure that there will be 8 make-up calls in game 6 to serve as an apology.

What was funny about that goal was how Chara was so focused on cross checking Hyman that he left Matthews completely open.

It was quite magical. No idea how Matthews can get lost out there, but perhaps it just shows that Chara is just as smart as he looks...

Carlo Coliacovos tweet. Pretty obvious offside.

As much as Matthews goal was goalie interference, Boston goal was clearly offside #LeafsForever https://t.co/yPDvmoC1RG

I fully admit that I am irrationally obsessed with this, but in the last minute, how the hell was it not called intentional offsides?

Clearly the refs "not wanting to decide the game" but it was the most obvious intentional offsides I have ever seen.

For the offside challenge on the goal, can I assume it was the refs who decided to review it, not Babs?

Because there was no penalty.

Most rational people(not trolls) understand that the contact was 1) incidental and 2) out of the crease and, 3) Rask was too far out of position because he set himself to make the save on the Muzzin shot to come across in time, regardless of a bit of contact.

But only rational fans could understand this. Not trolls claiming to be neutral.

In the last 5 minutes all goals are automatically reviewed by hockey ops for offside. If they see something close they’ll call down and delay the game while they take a closer look.
