I'd be happy with Zucker. Wild just trade players at random hoping it works, which isn't a good strategy.

Todd, why do you think ideally we need help on the left? We seem to be lacking natural RWs as it is.

I think our RW and LD issues are greater than our need for a LW. Hall is a beast, and Coleman impressed me this season. Not to mention the strong possibility of havine a similar ppg player in Mojo for the cost of nothing.

Don't get me wrong, if the asking price is our Boston 2nd rd, or, a 3rd and Quenneville, I'd be happy. Zucker is a good scorer, but if we are targeting a LW, we have ton's of cap to go afer a guy like Panarin, who could also be on the RW, as he does shoot Right. I am just not a fan of giving up picks when there are some quality UFA's to target.

Probably wouldn't take more than a 2nd and some sweetener. I'd do it

For all the talent we are about to have on this roster, I still say we need to replace what Maroon gave us especially on the power play. Somebody not afraid to get in the goalies face especially on the power play. One guy I see as that type is Wayne Simmonds, mind you Ill be shocked to see him even thought of, but for all the speed we are about to have, if we don't have those wingers who can crash the net without fear, I still think we are a team that can be outplayed physically most nights!...Not sure if we can get Bastian, Wood or a Coleman to play that way!

That’s a lot of not good players.... Gabriel and Popugayev LOL.
And Zacha plays center but ok. Regardless they can use a talented winger on either side. I’d think the RW more the LW.

Zucker can play the right side as well. And he's listing natural centers(Boqvist and Zacha) as left wingers for some reason, i dont understand his post lmao. Players arent locked to one side or the other, especially when a guy like Zucker played both sides literally this season. His argument is awful. Zucker would be a decent pickup for us

NJ doesn't need this guy: they need intensity forwards who can play with some attrition to protect the talent they're going to have in that top six. Hall, Hughes, Hischier, and Bratt are enough skill for the top six, while Palms can play second line wing... but that first line wing needs a digger like Josh Anderson, Marchant, Gallagher, Landeskog, Hyman... NJ can't trade for them, but that's what they need.

If Bastian could play that role, I'd say him, but I don't think he's ready for it. McLeod would have been good if he had advanced like he should have, because he plays a high intensity game, but even he's not really fit for the part.

That's why NJ should consider Ferland.

This is the first post I've seen of his. Either way he doesn't make any sense.

Totes down

I also think they should look into acquiring another 1st round pick to grab caulfield, or Krebs. Robertson would be cool too.

With Tampa, Pitt, and Calgary pooping the bed here, I wonder if there is anything Shero can put together for trades. Does Pitt blow up or keep trying to re-tool? Who would you want him to target?

Particularly what if Hall ends up not signing... (I would rather sign him for the record)...I wonder what Tampa would give up for a chance at the cup with Hall? Hall+Severson for Hedman+Callahan? Is that a win/win?

That's why Shero needs to go after Wayne Simmonds, put him in the first line w/ Hall & Nico, he plays a physical game and can score and protect nico and hall, assuming we draft Hughes, put him in the 2nd line w/ Bratt & Palms now we have a solid 2 lines! Zajac, Zacha, Coleman, Wood, etc.. can be on the 3rd and 4th line.

I would be okay with Simmonds, depending on the contract. He is not the type of player that would age well IMO so if he is looking for something longer term it might not be the best option. But here now today, he would make the Devils better for sure. Kevin Hayes would be an option also. We need someone who can play with an edge, but can be productive also.
