Thx again Todd for your time and effort all year. I am not so sure the flames dressing room was as tight as was said. After the break they were never the same team. ???? Neal should provide a refund ffs. Oh and go away

Good season for the boys. Great learning year. Solid core of defenseman and forwards. Need to add some pieces here and there but we should be looking good for years to come. Looking forward to the draft and summer.

Trade deadline inactivity was a huge mistake( see columbus). Regular season success isnt a real goal to be achieving for. You played the weakest team in the playoffs and mckinnon is the excuse for getting manhandled. A defence who cant defend and top forwards who cant find their own end. Think how ugly it would have gotten if smith wasnt on fire. Overvalueing prospects like treliving did all year, maybe time for a reality check. Ya ya i know the flames won that one extra game in a playoff series than the oilers...whatever that is worth...a worse draft pick??

I don't think Monahan is worth building around. He's just not. And TJ Brodie and James Neal should have played their last games in Flames uniforms. Get rid of them, and use the cap space wisely.

Yeah having perennial 30 goal scorers sucks. Brett Hull & Marty St Louis werent worth building around either. Definitely dont want to build around goal scorers.

Like you guys should lecture anyone or any teams decision making... I'd take the Flames prospect pool over the Oilers any and everyday. Outside two players, maybe throw poor ole Nuge in there, the Oilers franchise is exactly how not to run a professional hockey team.

We'll make changes and adjust. Good teams/franchises do that...

Can DR carry the mail all year?? That’s question 1. Smith as proved in this round is more than capable for 15/20 starts on a team friendly 1or 2 yr deal ala Ryan Miller.

That Neal contract Ughhh

And for all the talk about 1st line ...
What the hell happened to this supposed top 4 D?? They got completely exposed.

Flames are in a good spot, just some minor adjustments needed.

Next year people should pay closer attention to teams like Calgary who beat up on bad teams but struggled against quality teams. This was not a surprise. They were never that good.

Good series! As a Avs fan I can say I did not see this coming, I expected the Avs to be a tough outing but to do what they did was definitely a bit of a surprise. Especially last night , I expected a lot more from the Flames! Having said that both teams have super bright futures and I expect another playoff battle in the years to come.

Good luck y’all

Nice not listening to Oiler trolls. Good luck in round 2. You guys could will be a tough out! And you have a top draft pick. Futures bright.

Oilers...not so much what a embarrassment of a franchise they have become.

Too soon?? Honesty hurts. U saying the oilers sucked this year is nothing new, you guys spent more time telling us our team sucked than to pay attention to your own team. Karma!! Difference is oilers fans knew our team needed help. Most flames fans including your gm were so arrogant you couldnt see the forest through the trees. Remeber that next time you get those 90 plus point in the reg season that in reality that amouny to nothing in the playoffs.

I’ll tell you one thing for sure. The flames are in ALOT better shape than the oilers. I’m glad to hear you’re not in denial about the laughing stock franchise you cheer for. How many more years is McDavid going to p!ss away before he wants out of that never ending mess?

Ok, that's a great philosphy, but what happens when (see columbus) trades away the farm to make those moves and doesn't win the cup this season??? On top of that they stand to lose their top UFA's like Bobrovsky, Panarin, Duchene, Dzingal.... etc... I think likewise that could be just as big a mistake as not making moves. Good GM's don't sell the farm for one season. They just don't. So to say that Calgary should have mortgaged their future for a couple rentals is pretty stupid when they are trending as a club over the last few seasons with young talent.

U still dont get it!!! What does it matter if your team has more so called upside than the oilers??? Do you think being better that the oilers will earn u a cup. Maybe lose the inferiority complex to start and actually try beating teams who actually made the playoffs. To deflect may help u sleep at night but it doesnt make your team better.

Mortgage the future no but your gm and tampa as well both came in arrogant and cocky. columbus is the extreme example that I would not duplicate but to make no trades when u were dominant all year(like tampa) is the biggest mistake of all. But of course deflect as always. Mcdavid will ask for a trade and the oilers were terrible.

Treliving wasn't arrogant, he didn't have the pieces to make deals and he'd already royally screwed up their cap situation. Everyone they went after they were outbid on. He couldn't seriously go after Stone because there was no chance of resigning him.

Any of the spare parts he could have potentially made deals for wouldn't have made a difference. Fantenberg sure didn't.
