Sorokin has been one of the top goalies in the KHL for some time now. With little left to prove in Russia, the question is whether he will follow fellow countryman Gusev to the NHL after next season?

There are reports he wants to come over when his deal is up. There were reports last year that he wanted to see the Islanders have a better management/coaching staff in place before he made the jump, which has obviously been accomplished.
There were also reports recently that he was going to buy out the final year of his deal and come over this summer, but a reporter asked him about that after they won the championship and this was his response:
I'm cautiously-optimistic that he'll come over, but there's another full year before anyone will know for sure.
